Hey Rob, welcome to the definitely madder house! Yes, quite a few familiar names, but you can block them, so that's ok!
-
Definitely part of the bourgeoisie now!.....

An oldie but goodie.....

Funnily enough, chilli and smoked paprika feature heavily in our diet, along with garam massala and curry powder!
-
Unfortunately garlic butter is not allowed, so we had to make do with some brown rice. I've seen some packs of wild rice in our local supermarket, expensive, but maybe as a treat!
-
Last week's sweet potato, bean and chickpea chilli, done in the slow cooker. This was probably my most successful recent attempt!

Menu choices have become very restricted since Mandy has been diagnosed with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and she's (we're) on a diet! My cooking has had to become a bit more "experimental"!

Well, not exactly a masterpiece, but we've got some rotisserie chicken left over in the fridge from Saturday, so I am going to heat it in some chicken gravy on a bed of green beans with sweet potato and sweetcorn mash. Hopefully it won't kill us!

TBH I don't fact check too much because I frankly can't be arsed. I said I didn't doubt the content of the article, just it's source. In light of the other articles, then, yes he is an arse. He also admitted that his own home wasn't insulated! So he's a double arse! Anyway, the sun is shining and I've got to prepare a culinary delight for the boss, for when she gets back from work, so I bid you a good afternoon.

I'm just pointing out that some sources of information are less reliable than others. Some papers can print any old garbage and get away with it, or have to print a retraction (usually buried in the paper somewhere), whereas some other information sources can and are challenged if they publish something wrong or misleading and are forced to amend the information. I'm not saying that this particular story is inaccurate, but I'd fact check it elsewhere, just to be sure.

True. There used to be grants to help people to get it done..........

Wow, they really did come in a three! I hope that your missus and dog are both doing ok now? That's a shame about the Pod! I first went there in the early 1980's and would leave all my bike gear, etc in the tent with no worries. Unfortunately there are gangs of thieves who target any big events these days. Which event was it that you were competing in? Hopefully the car can be fixed OK too?
-
Yeah, that's not too bad I guess.
-
The tax on new cars is horrendous there, too, from what I've heard.

One thing that I've noticed about living here, is that many people are not badge snobs, so consequently bikes like the Himalayan still go for good money! But it's worthy of consideration if one comes up at the right price. As an aside, my OH's brother has a Bullet and an old CG125, which are his only vehicles. So he goes all over the place on them loaded up with camping gear for his holidays. He loves both of those bikes.

Secondhand prices here vary wildly, but they're all towards the upper end! It seems, from what I've seen on the selling sites, that the smaller capacity bikes are nearly all motocrossers or proper trials bikes, which are not road legal. Then there's a gap and the trail/enduro bikes are mostly 600cc+. Very rarely does a road legal small capacity bike come up and they are often 70's, 80's or 90's bikes that the seller immediately think are classic and bump the price up to ridiculous sums! So, it's looking like something like an XT660, DR650, KLE650 or similar are the most available options and even then some sellers want silly money for a nail! The search continues!

Yes, Pete. I've just been watching a review on YouTube on it. Looks pretty interesting and the base price is not too bad either. I'm not sure when they'll be available for test rides and I suspect there will be a lot of interest in it.
