2.9L/100km at the moment = 97.4mpg apparently.

I don't know why Triumph persist with the datatool alarms, they've been shit since they first started fitting them. My OH had one on her Speed 4 and the internal battery died on it, so we couldn't get the bike to start, as we couldn't turn the alarm off. Fortunately, being a UK bike, we just fitted the jumper plug and junked the alarm. Anyway, that doesn't help your position. Have you decided what to do?

I sold quite a lot of stuff on there before coming out here.......including my Speed Triple. It was also on fleabay, but didn't get a single sniff from there.

Most of those hole-in-the-ground bogs have been replaced with proper ones now, so your trainers are safe(ish) now.

Most of the roads in this part of France are pretty decent, but there's zero tolerance from the gendarmes for speeding and the limit on single carriageway roads varies between 80-90kph. You don't realise how big France is until you drive from Calais to the Mediterranean. I've not ridden a bike in Spain, so I can't really compare them.

We're just north of Narbonne. We've got the Mediterranean 30 minutes to the South and the Cevennes (Black mountains) 20 minutes to the North. The Pyrenees are about an hour away and Barcelona is around 90 minutes away. This photo was from last week, up in the Cevennes about 40 minutes away from us.

I think the big problem there now is that there's too many people on there that take every opportunity to be offended. It's like walking on eggshells these days. The banter and humour has gone from the place.

Techno caused a lot more people to flounce than @Six30. He and I didn't see eye-to-eye and he gradually drifted away. He's still in touch with a few of them on Facebook. There used to be YorBandit and Dave (can't remember his forum name) who were pretty good mods, but they drifted away too. I'm still in touch with them on Facebook. Ian is a good mod, but I think he's running out of steam now too. Craig's a good lad, met him at a few rallies, but I didn't have him down as a mod. Dunno about Blender, I've never met him.

Yes, I had the catheter in for a couple of weeks, until the antibiotics had sorted out the UTI. They gave me a spare as well, to fit myself if needed!
-
Oh yes, mate! Not so many of them down this way though, thankfully.

I spent the early hours of New Year's day 2020 in A&E waiting to have a catheter inserted after a few beers and my prostate decided that I didn't need to pee anymore! The pain was excruciating, so I completely sympathise with you, mate.

They vary quite a lot, Pete. More expensive nearer the coast or Montpellier, but not so bad away from those areas. You can still get a wreck to do up for peanuts, but I'd rather enjoy my retirement doing other stuff. 🏍

Yes, but I had it in about 1982. I then swapped it for a Rover 3500.

Fingers crossed we should complete the sale of the UK house tomorrow, Pete. Then we've got to go house hunting!

I had a mark 1 1600 GT, which used to like stepping the rear out in the wet. A seriously scary car.

One of the lads I worked with when I was an apprentice had one of these. The thing is, he didn't realise that's what it was. Just assumed it was a standard 3 litre. It was only when he wrote it off ( met a lamppost with it) and gave it to a relative to fix up, that his relative told him that it was an RS3100!

Yes, but to be fair Stu has had some health issues over the past year, so I'm guessing that's had an effect to an extent. It's a fine line between over-moderating and under-moderating a group and no matter what you do you'll always piss someone off somewhere along the line. Yes, I'm working on the language thing, but it's all the admin stuff that's doing my head in. Along with selling our house in the UK. But I'm sure it'll all come together eventually.

I stepped down really because I lost my biking mojo, Clive......but the writing was on the wall I think. 008? No, I see myself more as an Austin Powers!
-
Yes, I guessed that was what Clive was saying Yeah, I don't know what happened there, Pete, but it lost the vibe. I still go on there from time to time, but don't really feel motivated to contribute much. Mind you, we've got so much still to sort out here I'm finding it hard to concentrate on much else at the moment.

I resemble that remark!
