I had a Trophy 900. That was top heavy too. Alright until you needed to manoeuvre in a gravel carpark or on a hill/camber! My favourite Oh Shit moment on that was just after I got it. We went to the BMF rally in Peterborough and it was pissing it down and it was one of the years when they had you parking on the grass. I stopped and went to put the bike on the sidestand but it went straight into the ground. So I was trying to haul the bike back upright, on wet grass, otherwise it would have been bike dominoes! I managed it, but I still don't know how. Even the main stand sank into the grass! First think I bought at the show was a sidestand puck!

    Anti-Vaxers!

I got the Pfizer one, Pete. My missus had the J & J one. Yes, mate, people quote stuff from right nut-jobs and then expect you to accept it as gospel! I'm a bit annoyed because my sister split from her husband and moved in with our mum. My sister has long believed all this conspiracy claptrap, but she's now influencing mum. My sister's daughter has tried to reason with her mum, but gets nowhere with it and just falls out with her. God help if my mum gets Covid-19 and gets really ill with it!

    Anti-Vaxers!

My mum and the eldest of my sisters keep going on about The Great Reset. Neither of them will have the vaccine. I've given up arguing with them now. Anyway, I had my second jab on Sunday and the Internet is working much better now!
  4. They're all over the place here......probably due to us being surrounded by vineyards!
  5. We're moving house, so probably not much bike action. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are looking a bit shit here too, so I don't think I'll be too upset.
  6. Technically here all over 55's are supposed have the AstraZeneca jab, but if you book it at one of the bigger vaccination centres they tend to have the Pfizer one, so that the AstraZeneca ones are freed up for doctor surgeries and pharmacies who don't have the storage facilities for the Pfizer. I booked at a vaccination centre, so I got the Pfizer. My OH registered for any leftover shots and got a call today to go to a pharmacy about 30kms away for the J&J vaccination. So she's all done now.
  7. Some have the bbq in a covered area, but most we've seen are just in the corner of the garden or on the patio. And some have a complete kitchen in their garden!
  8. It's about 20C here at the moment, with a bit of cloud cover. But it doesn't look too threatening at the moment!
  9. I'm going to attempt another bbq this evening. Friday's one ended with me stood in the garden with a rain jacket on cursing the weather! Probably gave our neighbours a good laugh and confirmed their view that les Anglais are all mad!
  10. Well, our move out here was initiated around 18 months-2 years ago. The headquarters in Montpellier sounded her out about a European role based out of there. I investigated early retirement and she geared up for the move. I retired in August last year and we were investigating places to live out here when she got a call to say that, because of the pandemic and a slowing down of business, there was a headcount freeze and her job offer had to be withdrawn. Anyway, we'd already made our minds up to move over here, so we just went for it. She set herself up as a freelance consultant, but work has been very slow. So, this current job came out of the blue, but fits in nicely, as they pretty much let her write the job spec and dictate her hours. So, yes, Pete.....it's all falling into place nicely now.
  11. She was Sales and Marketing manager at a medical company in the UK before we moved, Pete. The company's European headquarters is in Montpellier. They contacted her a short while back about a technical liason type job, as she used to work in the labs, so, a slight change of direction for her, but she always preferred the more technical jobs anyway.
  12. She's pretty desperate to get back to work......I'm not sure if I should take that personally or not?
  13. You can travel outside the 10km limit with an Attestation I think, but I'm not sure which category it would fall within. I went to Montpellier to pick up the new bike and filled in the one for collecting purchases. I guess it depends on how far you need to go and how likely is it that you'll get stopped?
  14. I've done a whole 200m on it since I got it, Pete! But once we move and the missus starts work I'm hoping to get out on it a lot more.
  15. Pissing it down here! I didn't move all this way for British weather!
  16. I personally don't have a problem with a discreet and relevant ad here or there, as long as it doesn't eat up too much screen space or become to obtrusive, if it means the survival of the forum. Voluntary donations are also OK I think. But this is going at a tangent from the original post. Yes, buying up forums and killing them off doesn't strike me as a robust business model!
  17. One of my old bosses used to say "if it costs nothing it has no value" , although this was in the context of giving customers something for nothing, which the sales guys liked doing....frequently!
  18. Exactly! There's a strict flouncing protocol that has to be observed......leaving without following this protocol is just "buggering off", AWOL.....etc!
  19. If the lockdown gets lifted and it stops raining! ???
  20. Great pictures.....and great bikes too. ?
