Only 3 of us on the bike ride today. Probably seemed like a good idea at the time to go over the Clape. Thank heavens for ebikes! 42kms was a decent distance too, especially as the return leg was into a pretty strong headwind.

I'm fucking fuming today! I walked down to the boulangerie this morning to get the bread and a coffee and they're shut! On holiday this week! Well, I don't remember seeing a holiday request form from them! I'll be having words (probably random ones, as my French is still pretty shaky) when they open again next week!

Hopefully you can get something sorted out @MooN. It really sounds like they've truly fucked up the move. Is there any chance of getting him moved to another care facility?

Weird day here today. The Farmers are protesting and have blocked the motorway and major roads, so we noticed a bit more traffic through the village this morning. Anyway, we went across to the hyper Market in Narbonne a while back to get our weekly shopping. They had half the checkouts shut and a lot of security guys patrolling the place. The store itself was pretty quiet compared to normal, so we got our shopping and paid for it pretty quickly and headed home. The roads were unusually quiet, but we use the back roads to get across there. I'm thinking that the main roads around Narbonne may have been a different story! I'm now waiting for the stories to come in about rioting and cars etc being set alight!

We've just had them moaning about how difficult it is to conjugate the verb "to have". In english there's 2 options; Have or Has! None of this "ai, as, a, avez, avons, ont" Bullshit!

Speaking of learning another language, me and my buddy have been teaching some of the local French some English! That'll be 20 of them out of 2500 in our village, so I guess I'd better up the ante with my French then, otherwise I'd need to live to 10000 years old before we got all of them up to speed in English!

If you do get a cough and end up with a hernia we do not need to see any photos of it! Just putting this out there in case! Anyway, hopefully it doesn't hit you too hard.
