  1. Good luck for tomorrow morning Rich.
  2. It wasn't. I nearly fell off when I got to the sand! I had to push the bike across the beach to the water's edge.
  3. Good luck with the job hunting mate. I know how you feel though. I had a job years back where I worked my arse off, but got no thanks. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I took a customers main control unit back to the office one evening, after it couldn't be fixed in-situ because the company never gave us the necessary spare parts. I'd been on the road since 6am and I got to the office at around 8pm and stayed until 10pm to fix the unit. Bearing in mind that the office was in High Wycombe and I lived in Kent at the time. I took the repaired unit home with me and then set off the following morning at 6am to get it reinstalled at the customer's before they opened. The MD phoned me up and gave me a bollocking because the customer had complained that I'd taken the unit away. I told him exactly where he could shove his job! I got another job a week later.
  4. Our friends in the village said that their doctor told them to leave a 2 week gap between the 2 jabs. I'll probably do that, just in case. It's only a 5 minute drive to the pharmacy where I get them done, so it's no big deal to get them done separately.
  5. My youngest sister has 3 rats, er, little dogs. She's at the vets at least once a week with one or other of them! Costing her a fortune!
  6. ....and NHS waiting times!
  7. I've got a Covid-19 booster booked in for this afternoon. I'm eligible for a flu shot too, but I may leave booking that for a week or two, to see how I react to the covid shot. Also, I want to see if it boosts my WiFi signal, as it seems to be getting a bit sketchy as my previous booster wears off!
  8. I have been out on the bike since my last post, but I thought that this thread needed elevating up the board and also give Pete a target to aspire to! The ride down to the beach was pretty easy, with the wind behind me, but the ride back was bloody hard work, even on an ebike! 50-65kmh headwind on the way back was sapping! The wind has got a bit of a keen edge to it today too. Anyway, I may even do it again tomorrow, when the wind is forecast to gust to 80-90kmh!
  9. I do like Triumphs, but their dealerships leave a bit to be desired! I guess that they won't miss my business, but word spreads and it'll bite them in the arse eventually! Mind you, the Honda dealer that I bought my CB500X from wasn't much better. So, my feeling now is to buy something a bit older and service it myself and stuff the dealers!
  10. They can sell bikes with no effort, so they just take the piss! If my Triumph has depreciated that much in under 2 years, why would I buy another new Triumph?
  11. Oh yes, and list price on the Tiger! Wouldn't shift on that, so I walked!
  12. I went over to Triumph Montpellier on Saturday for a ride out and to have a look to see what they've got in at the moment. I expressed an interest in the Tiger Sport 850. The salesman sat us down and did some number crunching. The result of which gave me a real belly laugh, so I don't think that I'll be buying a new bike, or any bike, off them in the foreseeable future!
  13. I need to have a go at making some Mulligatawny soup at some point.
  14. Sounds like it needs a bit more ventilation in there, Clive. The only house that I didn't get condensation in was the first house I bought when I moved to Cambridgeshire, but that was only because I got double-glazing with Pilkington K-glass put in. At the time it was pretty expensive, but I think that it worked pretty well. Our last house in the UK was really bad for condensation, even though it was cavity wall insulated and uPVC double-glazed. We couldn’t use the built-in wardrobe in our bedroom, as all the clothes went moldy in there!
  15. A bit of chill out from down under!
  16. Not enough rock/Prog here recently!
