Before my prostate operation I had to have an examination by a cardiologist. I had an ECG and an ultrasound scan of my heart. I'm fairly certain that any blocked or restricted arteries would have shown up there. But, maybe the requirements are different in Spain to here? Anyway, we don't know what it was that finished him off. It could have been any number of different things.

I first me Pete on "The Forum that shall not be mentioned". I guess that it was around 2011ish. Obviously there were our interactions on the main forum, but we also took some of our discussions onto DM's to bitch about some of the twats there! We shared similar political beliefs also, which we obviously couldn't discuss there. I drifted away from that forum, but received a message from Pete inviting me to join this place, which seemed like a good idea at the time! But, as it was driven mainly by him, it took a different path to other forums that I'd been on and that was quite refreshing. Unorthodox, much like Pete! We occasionally exchanged DM's as I saw him as a friend and kindred spirit, where we bitched about the state of the world! I lost my biking mojo a little while ago and was surprised to receive a phone call from Pete, asking if everything was OK with me. He genuinely cared for everyone on here. Mind you, his opening words to me were: " Fuck me, Bob. I didn't have you down as a cockney wanker!" It was the first, and last, time that we'd actually spoken together. I hope that we can hold this place together in his memory, but we have to resign ourselves to the fact that it won't be the same without him at the helm. Keep dodging those puddles, mate!

It's actually harder to do than it should be, if it's anything like in France. I've seen a few posts on Brits in France Facebook groups and it seems that there's quite a bit of paperwork involved!

It's nearly 11:30 on Monday morning and I've not been exposed to some abandoned shit yet! There's definitely a void been left!

I guess that will form part of the discussion when the time comes.

I just wanted to thank @Pedro, it must have been hard for him to be the bearer of this terrible news. I know that many of us have questions relating to Pete's passing, but I think that we should hold onto them and not burden @Pedro any further. I'm sure that he will pass on any relevant information if it comes into his possession. Given the norm for quick burials in Spain I guess that it will be unlikely that any of us will be able to attend in person, unless we hear otherwise, we will need to console ourselves with keeping him in our thoughts until he is laid to rest. Once things have settled, then maybe we'll need to have the discussion on how to keep this place running as part of Pete's legacy, but I think that we need to keave the timing of that until @Buckster and @boboneleg feel it appropriate.

This truly is shit news! I thought that things were looking up when he was moved out of ICU. Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of it about! Mandy's old boss was chatting to people on the Saturday and died of multiple organ failure on the Sunday. We don't know, but we suspect from Sepsis. To go downhill that fast! Anyway, I'm concerned for Pete's wife. Not only has she lost her husband, but could also be in a very precarious position with remaining in Spain, if that's what she wishes to do! Hopefully the boys will rally around and make sure that she's looked after. RIP Pete.

I'll be off to teach some Frenchies some more English swear words this afternoon with my buddy. I don't know what we're going to do once we run out of them. Probably just make some up? Anyway, we've already told them that once they learn English they can travel anywhere in the world and be understood. Just point and shout! Works fine when confronted by Johnny Foreigners who pretend that they don't understand!
