National holiday here today too. Mandy has booked tomorrow off work, so she's got a decent few days off. So, we're heading over the border into Spain tomorrow for a couple of nights away.

The thing is that the debt from the compensation paid to the British slavers for ending the trade has only just been paid off. So, as a British tax payer, you have been paying for it for most of your working life.

Yep, what she did was unforgivable. I'm now waiting for the same outrage with Captain Tom's daughter, who did the same sort of thing, but on a grander scale?

I've not watched it yet, but Mandy has seen the first couple of series and is watching the latest one too. She says that she's enjoying it.

Good luck, Pete. I had to have the blood tests and ECG before my operation earlier this year. The preparatory appointment was just with the anaesthetist to run through the results of the tests and ask a few more questions around dentures or crowns and checking what medication I was on and medical history of my immediate family. One thing that they didn't do here was take any swabs to check for MRSA, which they did in the UK when I had a general anaesthetic there.
