Unfortunately not everyone gets any pain. One of my old colleagues was feeling a bit ropey one weekend, so he drove himself to A&E. He collapsed in A&E and they had to resuscitate him twice there before they rushed him in to theatre. He had a couple of stents fitted. Bizarrely, the same weekend one of my other colleagues got rushed to hospital and also had a few stents fitted. When my dad had his first heart attack, my mum said that he just didn't feel too good and got short of breath and went a bit grey and clammy. Fortunately the hospital was just up the road and a motorcycle paramedic was with him within 5 minutes and an ambulance wasn't far behind. Although, they the blue lighted him down to the heart unit at Ashford hospital, which is a good drive from their place.

I'm Billy no mates anyway, Chris!

Cheers, Bob. The Fort isn't too far away, so I'll go back for a proper look when it's open again.

The forecast for today seemed to be a bit sketchy, so I decided not to go too far. It was not bad when I left home anyway. I thought that I'd go down to Le Port Leucate to have a look at Le Lydia, which is a ship built in Denmark in 1931. It was decommissioned in 1966 and was bought by a company which was developing a new resort on the Med, to the South-East of Perpignan. Anyway, the ride down there isn't the most exciting. Taking the Narbonne northern ring road and then picking up the Perpignan road to the west of Narbonne centre. It's a fairly busy road, that criss-crosses the motorway that runs down past Perpignan and on to Spain. I left the main road near Leucate and followed the coast road through to where the ship is situated. It's certainly not a place that I'd be visiting in the summer months, as it's full of holiday parks and hotels! I then decided to head back up inland a bit to visit the Fort at Salses. This was built around 1495 to protect the border of France from Spain. Unfortunately it wasn't open, as there's some work going on there, but it should be open for the summer. After a little look around the outside I decided that it was probably time to head back. So I picked up the Perpignan to Narbonne Road and headed back the same way as I'd gone down there. There wasn't too much to photograph on the ride down and back, so I only got a few pictures from Le Lydia and the Fort. I didn't set the trip, but I'd guess that the trip was around 160-180km.

Wow, thankfully your doctor was on the ball and got you to the right place pronto! At least we won't be getting any photos of this one! They'll be telling you to exercise now, so you'll no longer have any excuses! Speedy recovery mate.

They're a long way from home!

Thanks. It's part of a cliff walk. If you look closely you can see Buckster across the water! The Scottish coast is only 30km over there.

I've seen the thread so far. My money is on that he didn't put an SD card in the camera and there's only enough internal memory for the last 5 minutes of video!

I thought that he'd left, due to some of his remarks being quoted, but no sign of the original post! Did you delete his contributions or did he? Not that it's important, I'm just curious.

We didn't encounter any problems, but I guess that there's certain areas that it would be unwise for us to go to!

Hopefully they'll get her sorted, Clive.

I've been away for a whole 11 days, so, who's flounced?

We visited my OH's daughter near Belfast and the countryside there is spectacular, but most of the housing are square grey boxes! They just make the whole place look uninviting and bleak! Not helped by the weather either!
