I'm in SW France, about an hour from the Spanish border, near to Narbonne.

I got out at 9am to trim the hedging by the pool, but gave up at 10:30 as it was sweltering out there and we're a few degrees cooler than where you are.

No plans for that yet, Pete, but Mandy is in for a gallbladder operation tomorrow!

Yes, it all seems to be OK now thanks, Pete.

Today was the first Sunday in weeks where we've not had visitors staying or being away on holiday. We had a nice leisurely breakfast, milled around indoors for a bit, went outside and wallowed in the pool for a while and then did a BBQ for dinner. I'll be phoning my mum in a mo, to catch up, although we do text pretty much every day, so I'm not sure what I'll be catching up with!

We paid 150€ each for Michelin Premacy 4s for the Audi plus had to pay nearly 90€ for fitting, valves and balancing! Then a further 230€ for front discs and pads and 180€ for a service. Just as well we don't use the car much now, hopefully this lot will last a few years! Oh, and it needs new rear discs and pads too before the CT (MOT) in September! This all comes as a shock after driving company cars for over 30 years, until I retired!

I thought that Zaragoza was more South central Spain? I'm pretty sure that I flew into Barcelona and we drove to Zaragoza in a couple of hours. Pretty scary though!
-
So you'll need to get a train from there to Amsterdam Central and change for Groningen? If I remember correctly it wasn't a particularly long train ride.
-
Where is the hotel? Ie, airport, city centre, etc. Hopefully the trains will have started running again by the morning.

They'd all be taller than him!

I hate it, although, it does mean that I can probably get out with the cycling group tomorrow morning!

We've got Mandy's son and his girlfriend staying with us this week. Mandy can't get anymore time off work, so I'm tour guide Barbie and catering manager this week. Anyway, they arise from their pit around lunchtime and then wonder why it's scorching hot outside and there's not really much of the day left to do anything! Kids!

If it's that bad they won't fly into it, they'll divert to somewhere else.
