It's on Netflix at the moment, but it was originally on ITV. It's from 2019 I think. It's a drama rather than a documentary.

We got back from our little trip to Blighty last night. The first few days visiting Mandy's daughter in Northern Ireland was good, but the weather was predictably bad! We did manage to visit a few places with them though. Then we had a few days at my Mum's in Kent before heading down to near Eastbourne to stay with friends for the weekend. The weather was fantastic and we had a good time down there. Then we headed back to my Mum's for Sunday evening and then up Stansted Airport to fly back yesterday. The only downside was from hiring a car at Stansted, which I got the final bill for this morning, that includes a number of additional charges that weren't mentioned when we booked it. The fact that the insurance was actually more expensive than the actual car hire too! We only hired a car because of the strike action on the railways whilst we were over there! However, in actuality, the car hire wasn't really a great deal more than the train fares would have cost us anyway. It's just the disparity between the advertised cost and the actual cost that pissed me off. Anyway, we did have a good time.

Excellent report, Chris. It really is quite moving to see in real life and get the perspective of just what an amazing feat of bravery this all commemorates! Great that you had nice weather for it too. I fully plan to go back again at some point and explore a bit further. I also want to visit Oradour-sur-Glane at some point too.

I had one of mine "borrowed" by the Police after I witnessed a double fatal accident. Mine and another guys dashcam footage was used to prosecute the driver that caused the accident. He ended up doing time for it!

It has been pissing down for nearly 3 days now, but God knows we needed some rain. The guys in the boulangerie were asking us this morning if we were going to drink our coffees on the terrace. Even the French take the piss out of us now! Tried phoning the DWP to make sure that my UK pension starts in August. What a waste of time that was. No one available right now, phone back after 2pm. Phoned back after 2pm, no one available today, try phoning back on another day! Useless twats! Too busy trying to get people who've been signed off sick back to work!

Did I mention that my eldest son dated Don Airey's granddaughter? They're still good friends. He's met Don a few times and says that Don's a really nice guy.

Not the best start to the week. Mandy just messaged me to say that her old boss in the UK died at the weekend. No details yet, but he was a month younger than me. He and his new partner were due to come over and stay with us for a weekend at the beginning of June. He was also my boss when I worked at that company, so I've known him for 25 years. We're both pretty shocked. As a boss he was one of the good ones and was a decent bloke too!
