  1. Dropped my missus off at the airport this afternoon too. She's only away for 4 days, though. I see fajitas in my immediate future!
  2. One of those words that has kinda crossed over the border, Pete! Soirée =evening in French or piss-up in English! In this instance both are true!
  3. We've got blossom starting to come out on our apricot tree..........at the beginning of January! Some ski resorts have had to close because they've not had any/enough snow! It's all a bit fucked up really!

    Proof …

I dunno, is the fact that I couldn't give a fuck about any of this wrong? There's not one of them that would cross the road to piss on you if you were on fire, and I feel that I'd be happy to reciprocate!
  5. Off down the village square for a soirée in a bit. I've got to run Mandy to Montpellier airport tomorrow lunchtime, so I guess we'll have to take it a bit easy this evening! Famous last words!
  6. Another bike ride today, but this time on my non-ebike. Some of the regular slower riders in the group today, keeping the average speed down!
  7. Cheers, Pete. It's just a couple of miles from where we live, so we're lucky to have places like this on our doorstep.
  8. Cheers, Bob. I think that it's going to be cloudy and a bit cooler tomorrow, but no rain. Go for it, mate. A bit of rain won't hurt!
  9. My missus was in a choir a good few years ago, but she left after a while because of all the snobbery and politics! It was a shame because she really enjoyed singing in the choir.
  10. A little walk today with Mandy. Just a circuit up the road from where we live. It was actually quite warm (16C) and I regretted wearing my body warmer. Anyway, did a slight detour to look at a small chapel on the way round.
  11. Any excuse for the lazy twats to bunk off work!
  12. I knew nothing about it until I moved here! Interesting that your son was learning about it at college.
  13. They're not going to be pushing lessons in critical thinking are they. Their days would be numbered if they did!
  14. The tradition here on epiphany is to eat Galette de Rois, which is a pastry cake with frangipane filling. There's normally a small trinket hidden inside the cake and whoever gets the trinket in their slice of cake gets to wear the crown that normally comes with the cake. I'm going on a short walk on Monday afternoon, which ends at the village hall to eat some Galette de Rois. Enjoy the day with your family, @Pedro.
  15. Had a cycle ride with the group this morning, which took me up to lunchtime. Just finished taking the Christmas decorations down, so it's coffee and cake time and feet up for a bit.
  16. Ride with the group today, but we clocked a few more km's. Another chilly start, but warmed up a bit later. A reasonable headwind on the return leg, which gave my legs a good workout!
  17. I don't mind them, in small quantities. Prefer swizzles though!
  18. It was a fair bit cooler when I was out on the cycle this morning, Caroline. I think it was 5C when I left home and about 9C when I got back!
  19. Still an absolute classic IMHO.
  20. Wasn't quite as warm as that, Pete. 15-16C I think was the max this afternoon.
  21. First cycle ride of 2023, although I should be out on one tomorrow too, all being well. Blew some of the cobwebs away!
