  1. More Ugly, if that's at all possible?
  2. Every day is the weekend for me now! Don't miss that work stuff one bit!
  3. It's law to have winter tyres or snow socks/chains 1 November to end of March in some of the communes round here. My missus' journey to work falls just outside of the zone, but we'll probably get some snow socks for her car, just in case.
  4. South Wales girl with a fantastic voice.
  5. I'd love to go and see the statues on Easter Island, but suspect it's a bit beyond my reach now. Machu Picchu would be good too.
  6. I don't know. Maybe it's that she does a fair mileage in the car getting to and from work. But she says that her confidence on the bike has gone for some reason. Maybe just a passing phase.
  7. Yeah, just how it is at the moment, Pete. Weekends are a no-go for the bike at the moment, as Mandy has lost her biking mojo, and weekdays just evaporate! Hopefully I'll get out on the bike sometime this week if the weather holds.
  8. Painfully slow ride today, but at least the weather was pleasant.
  9. I love this photo of my missus in a traditional hut of the Sami people, who herd the reindeer. This holiday was special, because my missus was going into hospital on our return for a cancer operation, so it was something to take our minds off what lay ahead.
  10. Yeah, it's a great place. Been there a few times myself. Late May/early June, when the rhododendrons are in flower, the carriage drive is fantastic.
  11. I've stayed in Rothbury a couple of times too. A stones throw from Cragside.
  12. Erm....no........pissed?.........probably!
  13. One of my old customers retired many years ago from working in the hospital labs. I met him again at one of his old colleagues retirement dinner and he was telling me how he was spending his retirement welding stuff together and also cutting up other stuff with a plasma cutter that he'd acquired! He was as happy as a pig in shit! Bucket lists are not just places, but also "things"! Burn pits? Why not?
  14. Yeah, I've been near to RAF Boulmer, but there's so many castles and fantastic places to visit along that coast.
  15. We went to Tromso and the Lofoten Islands in Northern Norway just before all this Covid stuff kicked off. It was late February and chuffing cold, but I'd go back there again in a heartbeat! Brilliant place, bit expensive, but just stunning scenery!
  16. I used to service analysers in the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, so I'd head down early autumn and early spring for the routine services. A day to drive down, a day to service the analysers and a day to drive back, nice and leisurely.
  17. Oh, and I do like Cornwall too, but it's just too mad busy during the summer months. Fantastic outside of that, though.
  18. But there's still plenty of excellent places in the UK to visit, Clive. Northumberland is still one of my favourite places to visit. Must have been there 10 times over the years and I never get bored of the area.
  19. What places have you got on your bucket list to visit? Near or far, doesn't matter. I want to visit the Menin Gate and Oradour-sur-Glane as being discussed on another thread. What about you guys? Or even places you've been that you'd recommend to others?
  20. I can't remember any Mod called Dan on there Clive. There was Dano, but he was never a Mod? Apart from the obvious ones, the ones I knew were Roy, Dave and Techno.
