This lot would do my head in, Pete! In all honesty I don't think I have the time to devote that it would require, mate. Sounds crazy, as I'm retired, but my days are pretty busy most of the time.

this used to be a motorcycling forum. Just sayin'!

Yesterday was chilly and windy, didn't get above 14C, but today is brighter and slightly less windy and slightly warmer at 17C, Pete. Forecast for the next 2 weeks seems to be a mixed bag and temperatures hovering around 20C. Still managed to avoid putting the heating on, mate, but had to switch to long trousers and long sleeve shirts!

We do actually have a pushbike carrier for the towbar on the car, but the emergency coffee was after our walk yesterday, no bikes involved.

2 bike rides and a walk so far this week. One ride was on my non-ebike and the other on the ebike. It was pretty windy today, and the rain blew in pretty fast when we were about as far from the car as we could be! Emergency coffee was in the car, ready for our return!

So, ice comes from the seawater freezing? So, the glaciers in the mountain ranges around the world are formed by the seawater freezing? Antarctica is also a landmass that is mainly covered in snow and ice. That ice is not frozen seawater, but formed from precipitation falling in that area as snow and then compacting to form the icesheets that sit on top of the land. That water is mainly locked into that place by the climatic conditions there. If the climatic conditions in that place change and get warmer the ice will melt and will no longer be locked into that place. As we all know, water will find its own level, so the melt water becomes mobile and will cause sea levels to rise. As an example that we can relate to, you have a litre of engine oil in a bowl on your garage floor. The oil is contained, so it's OK, until you kick the bowl over by accident. The oil is no longer contained and goes every fucking where! The ice at the poles is currently "contained" by the climatic conditions there, but if that "bowl" gets kicked over.........! BTW, saltwater can freeze, it just freezes at a lower temperature than freshwater.

I'm not sure what this is supposed to represent? Actually ice has a greater volume than water, so you'll notice that the level has dropped slightly after it melts. Anyway, fill the jug to the same level with water, and we'll call this the oceans, ok? Now go to your freezer (which we'll call Antarctica) and grab a good handful of ice cubes and drop them into the beaker (oceans) and then see what happens to the water level in the beaker (oceans). I'll give you a clue, it's called the Archimedes principle. Eureka!

They say that the camera never lies, but she was painfully slow and seemed to only know how to use 2 gears on her bike. But, fair play to her, she must be in her 70's and she completed the ride on a non-ebike!

Yesterday's ride with the group and I was riding my non-ebike. There were some pretty slow riders in the group, so the average speed was pretty pitiful! Still, a few hills made sure that it was a decent workout.

I voted for Buck, but I had to scrub myself with carbolic soap afterwards!
