Congratulations @busabeat great news
-
Is this because of the undercutting thing going on that you've mentioned?
-
Sounds ominous. Why a couple of years?
-
@Pedro and how did you get on getting two women drunk n wheedling out info about their boss and how the meeting would go? I liked the plan, need an update!
-
@Pedro what was the programme you enjoyed on HBO? I was going to look it up on Paramount but have forgotten what it was.

Spent all day proof reading my sons uni coursework, tiresome and knackering. It was a comma blitzkrieg. Can't for the life of me think what the school fee's went on it certainly wasn't English language Found rescue rum, surprisingly good, worth a try - "Discarded Banana Peel" sounds terrible tastes great.

All infectious cold/flu/covid virus' travel the same way so it's no more likely to be flu than Covid. The current level of infections has been building at a rate of knots since beginning November so by now we are all going to be sharing the same diseases. Only a PCR would determine if it's definitely Covid and they're not being offered anymore (unless you pay ). Proper flu will see someone knocked on their arse (or worse) for up to six weeks with a minimum of two weeks feeling like they might die (or would like to), following that there's post viral fatigue that can take months to get over fully. Proper flu is no walk in the park and Covid is an even bigger killer so be happy you're jabbed Most people who say they've had flu haven't experienced the real deal. It savages people. At this point doesn't really matter which it is, Covid is part of the Coronavirus (cold) virus' and you need to apply the same level of care to yourself whichever it is. Coughing is ok from a medical pov but if it effects your breathing adversely (ie you can't enough O2 in when rested) get help. Kraken rum.. yum.

@Clive was on the government website looking at the 'access to work' stuff (there maybe some useful conference support tech available for deafy's) when I saw this. Back in 2012 Ofcom decided that as technology had moved on and smartphones were everywhere there should be a decent free relay service. You download an app and whoever rings goes via Relay who type the conversation in real time. For example if someone rang wanting you to make an appointment, rather than your wife having to be there Relay type whats being said and you just say whatever in reply. I know it's likely you've already moved into 'text me' only mode but thought you might like to know. Could be useful. https://www.relayuk.bt.com

Remember that Enfield you had in for remapping that we all had a good giggle about? Did it make any difference?

I still like the dark chocolate Bounty (not the milk version). Used to have one after work almost everyday on the grounds the coconut content would help prevent a sugar crash I used to eat a lot of chocolate, really I still do. My brother came into the hospital looking for me once and asked the porter my whereabouts forgetting my surname had changed and using my maiden name. After a brief description of my appearance the porter said “Oh you mean the chocolate girl” he laughed and said “Yeah that’ll be her” I cut down eating so much junk after that Well sort of, I’d buy some chocolate on my way into work so they didn’t see my face pressed up against the vending machine quite so often

It added the necessary grit needed to dig the fecker out

I was just thinking the same thing.

Never heard that before, love it

I don't think I'd contemplate going out with someone who didn't have a driving licence unless it was for medical reasons. If they didn't have a car fair enough but those lazy bastards who expect everyone else to chauffeur them about get on my pip. My friends husband doesn't drive and now his parents are elderly (and living in another county) she has to spend all her spare time driving him up and down. Selfish twat.

@Tango what was that good news thread you started called? I tried searching 'Result' but nothing appeared.

Saw them live 3 times including that Brizzle one. Don't think anyone has ever surpassed them for slapstick. They used to deliberately script in mistakes because it got them the best laughs but a lot of them were genuine. I love the Prison Stephen Fry one where Rik Mayall desperately tries to think of a comeback and can't He had an f'in enormous presence in real life. Gutted when he tipped his quad he wasn't the same after that.

Oddly I don't think of them as children sweets because I've never stopped eating them

I wouldn’t spend on a new tv unless the old one broke. Declare it’s an environmentally friendly decision and keep your money

Strengthening the core muscles that surround your spine will protect you from strains n other nasties like slip discs. Tango might’ve been taking the piss a wee bit but he was also spot on. Sad how many people end up in surgery cos they got a cold and the coughing was enough to cause structural damage. Then cos they’re generally not the exercising type they don’t recover properly from the surgery either. Fractured neck of femur and slip disc, the two finishers of active life. Glad yours is just a strain but forewarned n all that.

I’d put money on him never having been near a religious establishment
