Itās the old nature nurture thing again isnāt it. Iāve watched one of my flakey friends nurture her teenage daughter into anorexia with her competitive pressuring style of parenting and not acknowledge she has anything to do with what happened. Then I see another friend with one daughter who is lovely n easygoing and one thatās a hellcat with behavioural problems from the outset. Its not easy thereās no manual (well there are thousands of conflicting manuals) and no one size fits all solution. Plus some people are just born bad. Sounds harsh but they literally have a larger psychopathic element than the norm. So thereās that too. -
The evidence that MOTs make the roads safer is threadbare. Logic tells you if a car is inspected and passed as safe this must make the roads safer. But the stats donāt back this up at all. Mechanical failure accounts for around 2% of accidents in the UK. In countries without MOT it accounts for aroundā¦ 2% I suppose the MOT really only says it was working on that day and vehicles can dramatically fail at any time MOTād or not. I donāt understand why old vehicles are exempt. Personally seeing bald tyres on large vehicles (especially HGVs, buses n coaches) gives me the heeebiejeebies. So new boots once a year is at least something. Thereās loads of them here in Spain compared with the uk but maybe the ITV (Spanish MOT) is more lenient. As for enforcing the new plate laws they just have to stick it on the MOT list.

Apnr shows all of that stuff doesnāt it?

I meant the bit Buck said about the manufacturer. But I guess it was the same time as other changes. Glad theyāre spending time and energy taking us to the important post brexit sunlit uplands

When did that happen?

More of your favourite type of Brit running away from winter electricity bills. When the cap finishes itās literally cheaper to spend the winter in Spain. Sad times. Reading the news has made me think I could apply for asylum here on the grounds of systemic governmental abuse and torture, I think Sanchez would be amenable

Showers til middayish then nice again. Hope it does rain, itāll save me watering the plants Read Spain is due to be flooded with āthermal reugeesā Hope it doesnāt push the rental prices up!

Dang 99% charge to 7% in less than an hour. I'll say goodnight before I have to call the fire brigade

For fecks sake just how bastid hot is this ancient laptop going to get? I've not seen a fire extinguisher here and its heating my hands beyond reason through the keyboard! Abort?

I like the look of the cave hotel and the desert a lot.

Not if I stop giving them to other people to work on!

Might need the iPhone 14 upgrade soon then, it lets you make emergency phone calls via satellite. Not that I'd need that on a trusty Enfield mind you

Sorry to ask this again. I'm sure its not that I wipe it from my memory as soon as you tell me but where are you again? I'll make a note this time. Promise. Kinda

Hmm are you just fitting us in with another teabag run?

How far away from you is that then?

After my previous experiences Iād paddle home and fix it myself before handing it over to another mechanic. Did I mention I can paddle my bike pretty fast now?

Doing it myself isnāt taking a chance Pete. I donāt find mechanical or practical things difficult. When I had a mini I used to fix it myself and my Pops was a motorcycle mechanic many moons ago, Iām sure heād be happy to direct plus he knows what I can and canāt do. He also has an uncanny knack of being right all the time so thatās handy. I wouldnāt attempt to get he needle back on the speedo for example. Once the waterproof seals broken that would be a whole world of watery pain -
My god itās mountainous, someone call an ambulance

Just how did a mosquito manage to bite the back of my thigh when Iāve spent most of the afternoon sat down? Bastid!
