I think it’s baser than that, sex, lies and greed are the cornerstones of all stories that engage. We’re really not as civilised as we like to think we are

I’ve had the most annoying ear worm for the last few days, can’t quite believe it because I never watched the programme. The theme tune for The Golden Girls!!! Wouldn’t mind quite so much if I knew more than two feckin lines Thankyou for being a friend, travelled down the road and back again

That is an outstanding amount of art and literature off just two people falling in love!

Lovely pics, thanks. Castle D’or Sounds like a Aldi ice-cream

Busy day. Lots of work on, just finished, hoping to wind down fast. That never happens when you want it to
-
Every time I’ve been to Cornwall and rented a place that’s been the way round it’s been, bedrooms downstairs. I like that, probably a simple animal thing to burrow down to sleep

Can always send it back if it’s no good.

You needed a nice van.
-
Either that story has more to it or you’ve lived a cosseted existence

It is pricey but it’s one of the better solutions I’ve seen. Assuming the reservoir housing is up to having a carbuncle attached and high speed winds applied I suppose the worse that could happen is it’s not and you need a new reservoir, the reviews are positive though. If I get one I’ll probably go for Peak design cos although they’re more expensive than quadlock (£80 for the mount ) the case is a slim, normal width one and its MagSafe compatible. Taking a case on and off to charge it is never gonna to happen.
-
The wind chill when soaked is pretty bad but the worse bit is all your gear still being wet the next day. Not a barrel of laughs.
-
Quadlock inserted itself as an advert in a youtube short I was watching (how do they know these things?!) and it was showing a natty little mount that screws into the cover, a clever solution for those short on bar space. https://www.quadlockcase.co.uk/products/motorcycle-brake-reservoir-mount?variant=42696740798639

Some folk just like to grit their teeth and go for it don’t they. Pit themselves against the conditions. Suffer with a bit of that myself, it’s stupid but you do it anyway When I had a wee ride in a storm (I’ll never do it again) I was on a much heavier, lower bike and luggage weight was low down, I still abandoned the insanity half way across Bodmin moor as ‘death or hotel?’ is quite an easy game choice
-
You’d ride in gale force winds when the RAC are advising people not to drive let alone ride? Madman.
-
So how stormy is too stormy to ride in? I had a look at storm Agnes cos a friend I’m meeting up with in a week or so is riding through it from up north down to Portsmouth to get to the ferry on this- Not exactly great for winds speeds “up to 80 miles an hour” Would you ride it or put it in a van? Having been across Bodmin on a bike in a storm I’m definitely gonna say van.

That could be fun or awful

I think I’ve seen more dilapidated wooden sheds than ones in good nick. It requires too much maintenance for most people. Personally I can only just be bothered to get a wooden fence sprayed every other year and I’m not even the one out there having to do it

Lovely news @busabeast Sky’s gonna be a big sister.

The things I find doing research for work!

Happy when anyone sticks it to the critics but honestly it’s just weird to watch. Like Variety shows are still alive and kicking and an unpolished dance routine worked out in a bedroom mirror is being performed by a 14 year old just discovering their sexuality. Don’t get me wrong, she is talented and nice looking too but thats not something I’d want to watch, she needs a manager to refine that shit, maybe someone like Simon Cowell -
Meeting a friend for cuppa, going to Brizzle to see the boys, packing for the ride to Spain (I always try to pack the week before cos theres always something that needs ordering) and sorting out one of boys 21st Birthday this Sunday. Might squeeze in a bit of yoga to make sure I avoid any consequences from the above madness.

Well I finally decided to bite the bullet and retrieve the rowing machine from the mini gym down the yard and see just how unfit I am. Bought a new heart rate monitor to avoid a cardiac arrest like all those plonkers who jump into a fitness regimen they’re really not fit enough for - usually men jogging or running It went surprisingly well, the reasonable baseline start I set for myself was so easy I bearly broke a sweat, my heart rate was superduper, recovered very quickly and I’m feeling pretty high (and a bit smug) on it Anyway I’m posting partly to share the joy and more importantly to say that ACF50 is feckin amazing. The garage sized ‘gym’ it has been in since 2019 has concrete running downwards to the unit so in heavy rain it floods a bit, it’s constantly damp as a consequence and gym equipment especially rowing machines with their little chains and thin perforated metal covers are notorious for rusting to pieces. I liberally ACF50’d it once 4 years ago (including disassembling it to coat the innards). Theres not a spot of rust on it, it’s running very smoothly. Viva ACF50!
