I didnt know that was a real thing. Looked it up its said its a fungus, White-nose syndrome, probably introduced from Europe.

Same. It’s really noticeable this year. Usually the light going through the back door means it’s plastered in moths and insects. This year I’ve not seen a single moth. We also usually see a shedload of bats, they circuit the house hoovering up free dindins and this year so far we’ve seen none

Germany do an in flight catch study. They catch everything flying over a certain area (can’t remember how big) then weigh the catch. Since the 70’s it’s gone down 76% and during the summer when activity should be at its height it’s dropped over 80% Just to add to the woe the catch is done over a nature reserve - no light pollution, low pesticide levels, the ideal environment for insects, so they’e saying everywhere else is likely a lot worse than that!

I fear we’re tipping over the precipice.

Mismanagement and the distribution mechanisms in place are wholly flawed. Theres a phenomenal amount of food waste, 2.5 billion tonnes of food per year (about a 1/3 of all food produced), thats a lot of unnecessary damage. Spains introducing very high fines (up to 500,000 euros) for food producers and restaurants that throw away food, they have to have agreements with food banks and charities to use it, harsh but a step in the right direction.

Comfortable silence is alright, I think. Well so long as its not something you regret later. I think I'll regret not seeing my youngest brother later on but then when I think about him I think mañana -
Habitat changes, light pollution, intensive farming over too many acres, pesticide use (particularly water soluble pesticides). Caused an over 70% decline in insect numbers which has already led to the disappearance of some species of farm birds and the pollinators that directly support our food chain are also disappearing fast but lets just carry on like nothings happening until we reach environmental collapse. The greedy psychopathic bastards who think this is all dandy assume they will have checked out before the consequences land, looks like we're gonna see it a lot sooner than they thought.

I don't like helicopters full stop. My sister in laws ex husband got his license and offered everyone a spin. I googled are helicopters safe and it said 1.8 fatal crashes every 100.000 hours which isnt that bad but I still didn't fancy it, especially when it said one of the causes is inexperience! -

The engineer who did Bristols helipad was a complete twot. When it was finished they realised it wasn’t strong enough to carry the weight of the large helicopters so now only certain light craft can land there! It also has no rails. Maybe it’s a bit of a risk if there’s a gust of wind with those hooklike legs? -
Inflatable bar with an ice bucket?

Superb. Don't fancy that river crossing though!

Happy Sunday A ride somewhere dunno where yet, a bit of painting (hammerite on the outdoor cooking table) and then BBQ with everyone 🏍 Everyone wants Long Island Ice tea. I won't be partaking in those again for a minute or two Might post a pic of the juice squeezer though, it looks like a piece of machinery from pre industrial revolution, so heavy it needs sack trucks to move it and all for a tiny lime Was gonna post a gif of someone struggling to move something heavy but this gif came up and had to be posted, just how??!!!

I can't see how he's so incredibly wealthy. Is it another house of cards waiting to implode? Or are the banks and investors in so deep they can't let it fail?

A friend of mine with a misspent youth had ACAB badly tattooed across his fingers (you know the Indian ink and needle look). He said it wasn't his finest career move and caused him a lot of grief. When I asked why he still hadn't had it covered over he just shrugged
