We have a lot of wildlife surrounding our house and being on fat farmland between a quarry, the woods and the sea it means they are generally plump and beautifully glossy. Its not something I was brought up to enjoy, when wildlife is around you in abundance you learn if you don’t keep your house and yard in order Mother Nature will take it over pronto but I love seeing it and now enjoy it a lot. Since I started leaving sunflower seeds out this little fella has become quite friendly. This morning he took a few mouthfuls of seed and came over to the window to say You gotta love those furry slippers!

I was also thinking Tym, his posts make me laugh, once Ive figured them out which takes some time and then Im not sure if Im laughing at what Tyms getting at or something Ive just made up myself.. quality But my nomination for MOTY is going to Sir Fallsalot. He regularly posts great photos and gnarly bits of off road vid that keeps this place legit and are also a bit of a thrill to watch. Plus even when provoked he sound as pound which is no mean feat.

As vaccinated people are still not dying and the death rate after contracting Omicron currently stands at piffling 0.5% (although obviously thats subject to change over time) I wouldnt describe the AZ vaccine as shit, against the best laid plans even the expendables are still alive

Questioning everything is ok by me but the idea of considering the greater good (ie other people) just being polite is simply lovely.

Ive always thought there was a distinct difference between a pub and a bar. To me a pub is a place you can go any time of day to get something to eat and have an alcoholic beverage or a cup of coffee if you prefer. I suppose in my mind a decent pub is a country pub a bit like a the type of thing you get a lot of in the Cotswolds where you use it to meet up with people or start n finish a dog walk (preferably with an open fire), the sort of places that are ok for children to be in at lunch time. Then there are rough pubs that you’re only semi safe in if you’re from the area or built like a brick shithouse and bars which are purely about drinking booze and usually serve cocktails on a night out. My Ozzie mate says unless a Brit opens one you only get British style pubs in Britain, in other countries they dont exist in the same format.

Warning just watched Boris’ latest announcement- rant alert.. I am sick of hearing “you must do this or it will overwhelm the NHS” they have had two f’in years to increase capacity to deal with this entirely predictable scenario (in fact predicted by the govts own CDC pandemic planning before Covid even happened). Initially they cried out for anyone who’d left the NHS to please come back, me and thousands of others reluctantly put our names back on the register and waited to be called… nothing, we rang.. oh umm yeah.. no. None of us actually went back because there wasnt the beds or the time n capacity to train us in a new area. But two years TWO FECKIN YEARS, in that time they could have enough beds and trained staff twice over. When you consider how much lockdowns cost the economy its surely much cheaper to just INCREASE THE FECKIN CAPACITY and let the rest of the vaccinated population and normal NHS services carry on. Soz rant over.

Happy Sunday Not sure if Im going to be supervising todays cooking in a hands off seated sipping tea styley ( ) or hovering in a “AARGH THE PANS ON FIRE” type of way so Ill see yous laters, whatever youre doing this sunday enjoy.

You’ll find summink when you really have to. If its competitive, then it involves aggression, combine that with physical exertion and it takes on a life of its own, it’ll be enough to release the pressure. Maybe not at the beginning but once you get into it it will. But if rugby means that much to you then you shouldn’t give up cos other people think you should though, that’ll just make you sore in a different way!

Nothing can fill its place because theres nothing else like it but that doesnt mean you wouldnt get into another sport and enjoy it, just takes a bit of time to adjust and get good at another discipline. I don’t think you’d find that part difficult, sporty people dont have much trouble tuning into another skill set and rugby involves the majority of the necessary transferable skills- balance, speed, strength, stamina, eye hand co-ordination, strategy, I could go on.. oh look at the length of this post..I have I’d put in a small plea that you find something low impact though cos active people don’t take it very well when they cant be sporty anymore. You gotta look after what you got with the idea you’d like it to keep working for as long as possible. Trust me when I say ex sportsman arent a lot of fun if they dont have a sport to pursue.
