So you need time to recover from spending time with your wife?…

Not sure if this is the juncture to point out the difference between grammar and spelling

Bollo, depends who you’re married to!

Using it accelerates deterioration but the important part, the polystyrene that cushions the blow starts deteriorating from the date it’s manufactured. They give a separate ‘safe use’ date of 7 years from that date. A lot of money spinning bollo I reckon. Like any polystyrene type material, stick your thumb in and if it resists like normal then dandy, if it gives way too easily then goodbye. I am partial to Yens way of thinking, who cares?! Wear one or not, thats freedom. The NHS pays for fishermen, rugby players, football guys and horse folk to do what they want uninsured at high cost to the tax payer so hows about leaving the tiny percentage of bikers out there to choose? Albeit with some honest info to hand!

What didn't you like at first and now wouldn't go without?

Hate coms. Have had them since near the beginning and hate the interruption. Honestly who cant wait an hour for a call back? Yes business wise the first to respond gets the business but theres a line to be drawn between peace n quiet and the quality of service you can provide once youve had a rest. Used them reluctantly but religiously while Mr G was new to riding but not once on our ride to Southern Spain, just agreed when n how to stop if we got split up and everything was dandy.. nice n quiet n dandy. So no not a fan. I like the silence being occasionally disturbed by the engine noise and the quiet lulls inbetween. -
Hehehe

Bloody hell that’s impressive. Soon you’ll be inundated with requests to clean peoples pipes.

The West Country to Salobrena Spain

No idea But the garage is happy to sort it sharpish so Ill not worry about it Yep the original one it had only done 2400 miles! You read my mind, I didnt have one and didnt know how to articulate we probably just need a split link in spanish plus once the recovery is involved theres no money in it for anyone to just fix it Yep when I clocked it was the chain I had a moment of nausea thinking about what could of just happened! Royal Enfield in Granada, probably the best place for it! He said they were really lovely. He introduced the guy to apple translate (works so ridiculously well it makes Google translate look very archaic) and after 20 mins chatting the guy sorted a taxi, gave him a hug and said tomorrow or friday at the latest! -

Bit hacked off cos its taken yonks to get all this together and I really badly wanted Mr Slowlys first experience to be a good’n! I’ll wait til tomoz and start taking the piss thatll probably fix things The Traffico Control (traffic police) turned up on mobikes, one of them was nice the other brrrr all I can say is Im glad I had the right plates n paperwork cos he was looking for a nic! Update- Just got a txt from Mr Slowly he said the garage guys are really nice and will try n get it sorted tomoz -

Guess where I am? Half an hour away from Salobrena on the side of the road Mr Slowlys turn to navigate, whats that coming off his bike? Looks like one of his straps. Beep beep beeep beeeep (cos the next thing you know his bag will dump itself on the autovia in front of me) Mr Slowlys occupied looking down at his bike seemingly trying to change gear. I stop n run a short distance back to the strap, fuck me the traffics fast when your heading towards it on foot… oh dear its not a strap… bollox! The guardia civil arrive pretty quick, probably cameras covering this road. I hope they havent watched me run up the hard shoulder onto the carriage way with no hi viz on to retrieve the chain and so I quickly put it on. Need not of worried, They were perfectly pleasant but now an hour n a half wait for recovery and little hope of a chain then! Police were nice though. Glad I put the hi viz in the top of the pannier and on the right side for easy retrieval the traffic is FAST. Think having the hi viz n the printed documents quickly to hand helped relax the Guardia, happy they werent dealing with a couple of morons Gonna wait an hour more with Mr Slowly then head on cos I think Ill struggle if it gets dark n I cant see the road markings. Well dinner wont be coming out of the slow cooker today now will it! -

Yep they did this time but had no interest in seeing any other covid paperwork! -
Welcome @Jed hope you enjoy it. They’re all about the pics on here, mainly due to illiteracy so feel free to post some of your bike pics or any crayon drawings. Just try not to use words with more than two syllables in any of the descriptions

No border issues, just rode around it Bit of excess info here so I’d skip this bit unless you’re travelling abroad - it was so much more civilised than the chaos at the airport, far more relaxed, they check your vaccination status and your locator form with your passport, took moments. There is some difficulty for British folk with residency elsewhere as the border staff don’t have their head around other countries requirements and are demanding proof of vaccination when it’s not required so if you want to travel smoothly then just comply with the UK regs. The two key pieces of paper (which need to be printed as they don’t seem to understand/trust the apps) are your proof of vaccination and passenger locator form with a QR code on it. They don’t seem to be scanning them so feck knows why they want to see it but they do I do like that too though, crispy air and sunshine, lovely… if you’ve remembered your thermals So far so good. The extra luggage weighing on the Himalayan has effected the acceleration and top speed, stick some decent elevations into the equation and full throttle is umm well let’s just say far from exciting I’m guessing that the really high elevations might be effecting the mix. Those higher than high moments aside they’re running great, once you’ve made the adjustment from much more powerful bikes the Himalayan is a smile a mile, so easy to ride and endlessly trustworthy in any conditions so it’s just lovely to sit on and be transported along looking at the views! 🏔 Viva la Himalayan! -

Currently staying in a less than lovely place but the owners are nice folk, just not too handy on the upkeep front, it was chosen cos bikes are parked outside your door and as we know they come first -
