  1. I see they chose to do it when it was dry, wimps.
  2. Some great suggestions, thanks. I’ll have a look at those later.
  3. I was put off the 310 by a BMW mechanic who said it’s not the same as the other BMW bikes. He said it’s cheaply made and relies on the BMW badge to sell it without delivering the ride you’d expect and at that price point there’s much better bikes available. Ive looked at the 650, it’s available used at very reasonable prices with low mileage so I’m leaning that way.
  4. Looks great but it sounds painful and more of a second bike than a combination mile eater. It’s going to have to cover some distance.
  5. Read the rules, you have to own the copyright so thats six out
  6. Definitely not an @XTreme mytopboxisweldedtomybike type winner but a winner here somewhere
  7. @Grasshopper's Ride @Cupid Stunt @boboneleg @Sir Fallsalot @Tango @Motobiker soz if Ive missed you off Saw this and thought well the prize is a bit shit but there’s definitely a winner on this thread. https://www.adventurebikerider.com/abr-photo-of-the-year-competition-2021/
  8. You cant not love fire. Well until like a weed its in the wrong place but still
  9. Yep Im alright on that height on a bench seat which arent narrow so 800mm is the max
  10. You do need three things as I understand it- and NIE (identifying number) your passport and some bit of paper that proves your at your address which must be dated within the previous 3 months. It’s sorting out the insurance Im not looking forward to.
  11. You on the grog? It says 800mm ……… now it does anyway… I’m running for cover…..
  12. I honestly don’t know but 800mm is the maximum seat height I can manage and that’s not completely flat foot but it works.
  13. A lot of folk have been wise enough to only book ‘flexi’ deals that allow you to simply move it to another date. The holiday industry after pissing everyone off keeping their money first time round have bitten themselves in the arse because everyone is wary of booking with them again so had to offer some sort of Covid proofing to entice people back.
  14. Thats not gonna comfortable over distance though.
  15. Agree completely. Went to Nick Sanders place with a bunch of women and I was on the Himalayan, I had no trouble staying upfront in lovely Snowdonia because its twisty but its longer distances on dual carriageways and motorways it can become frustrating. We've both experienced it. Ive been on the Himalayan having a lovely time soaking up the view and Mr Slowlys frustrated and vice versa. If we both had Himalayans Id be happy but Mr Slowly isn't up for that.
  16. Have considered that stuff, it would only be a temporary measure to bring one from the UK anyway because you can only keep a UK registered vehicle here for 6 months of the year max, Id mot it before I brought it out and ride it back when the times up. It would provide a bike and breathing space while sorting out the NIE, bank account and proof of residence (certificado de empadronamiento). Oh and grappling with sorting out insurance in a language Im yet to grasp.
  17. Im happy with the Himalayan but 2 bikes massively mismatched on the power front can cause the person on the faster bike quite some irritation.
  18. That is currently undecided. Apart from the obvious time limits on having a UK registered bike in Spain does it matter?
  19. Im struggling to land on what bike for Spain. My first thought was the Himalayan but Mr Slowlys face at the thought of 24.5 bhp being his main bike was not a happy sight. I would prefer we had approximately the same power bike as if you're going to ride together the lower powered bike holds the faster one up anyway and they become frustrated. @XTreme suggests light is good for the rural roads in Spain. I think 200kg is the absolute max I can handle off tarmac but lighter would be better. Any suggestions for a sub 200kg bike that can be picked up cheaply, with decent bhp thats likely to be found with low milage? Im thinking £3000 but could push it up to a max of £4000 if a bit extra would buy something better. Wotcha fink?
  20. It 24.5 bhp is delivered well but you can't pretend you don't notice it on fast roads or at a busy roundabout when you want to sneak out quick.
  21. Dunno what to do on the bike front. Mr Slowlys face at the idea of a 24.5 bhp bike was not good.
  22. Psychology has changed massively in the way its taught over here. You have to have a B grade or above in maths at GCSE (o level) to even be allowed to study A level psychology. Well in most schools. I sure there are exceptions
  23. It really isn't an easy pass here. The statistics they have to grapple with means without good mathematical abilities they will struggle to even scrape a pass.
