  1. No they cant, its undoable for most folk. I can and do mostly work from home so it’s a possibility but in all honesty I have now reached a stage of frustration with having my plans on hold for so long that its at the point of the risk being worth it. Just a teeny weeny taste of borderless freedom, a ridiculous illusion I know but I want it all the same!
  2. The 9T doesnt and the Bandit (should it be well enuf to ever need its chain cleaning again ) has been lowered so the centre stand that was a pig before is impossible now.
  3. Definitely in for rises but its the hospitalisation and death rate they have their eye on and whatever happens this summer is nothing compared to what’s going to happen a few weeks after the schools go back and the weather becomes inclement Fingers crossed nothing truly vaccine resistant has turned up by then. I have my suspicions everyone will have moved onto the “just get your booster and live with it” school of thought by then, the economy will certainly be asking for that and the psychopaths in charge here were thinking that right from the start.
  4. That sadly that is inevitable, its just a question of time. As I explained to my mother on the phone today who is reluctant to celebrate her 70th birthday tomorrow this is as safe as its going to be for a while, the more time that passes the further away from the original strain the variations get and the more risky things become until a tweaked vaccine is administered so she may as well enjoy this bit of freedom while its here because a coronavirus wearing a different crown our immune systems doesnt recognise is in the post. Everyone also overlooks that children and schools are breeding grounds for all virus’ and no children are vaccinated so the virus has free access to these mixing vials…
  5. Just superb. Great stuff. Thanks for posting it.
  6. Theyre not gone until Sept/Oct but they’ve been used bikes only for a while now so wouldnt have one. Know what you mean about Dick Lovett, awful people. Going to take the 9T to Cardiff rather than deal with Dicks again.
  7. I had a sit on one and really liked it. A 50’s space rocket look, surprisingly very light to pick up off its stand and better looking in real life. Unfortunately you need to have a space travel income to get one. The guy I camped next to took it for a test ride and went back the next day to look into buying one, he was completely sold after test riding it which surprised me a bit him being a KTM riding off road riding nut. Has a reverse gear though so its staying on my list
  8. I thought the same thing yesterday
  9. Lovely pics What do they do with the sunflower crop? Seeds n oil?
  10. Problem with shift work is you need childcare from between 6.30am and 10pm (assuming you can get to work in 30 mins or under) which no one covers. Stick compulsory internal nightshift rotation into the mix and unless you have a partner who can be there and get the kids up n start getting them ready for the next day at the child minders you’re screwed. Then they wonder why they can’t get nurses (who enter into it at child bearing age) to stay in the NHS- they make it f’in impossible! I stayed because my boss bent the rules, reduced and changed my hours (so I could get there and back in time) and I moved to an area that had no night shifts. Just me and one other nurse on the entire ward had children. Then they decided to move everyone to 12 hour shifts (my area was one of the very few that was exempted) and that finished of almost everyone with children. The trust is one of the largest employers in the country’ with over 6,000 employee’s and yet they don’t have a clue.
  11. @Richzx6r how no mortgage at the moment? Can you stay no mortgage?
  12. That’s the plan, to go back to the days when the majority of people are dead within two years of retiring. The guy in charge of raising retirement ages retired early with a fat golden handshake....
  13. Child care costs against a crippling mortgage is fun maths isn’t it Babies are lovely n all but the weights that they come with are no laugh.
  14. Is it even viable for her to go back what with sky high childcare costs n all that? When I asked about childcare at the hospital trust I worked for they said “it’s £50 per day per child, you do get a discount on the second child so it would be £75 a day but we don’t have any places available” I said I can’t afford that on nurses pay to which they replied “Well it’s not for you then is it” ?!?! That was over 15 years ago so maybe things have improved, can’t imagine their prices now. They then ran advertising on the radio for trained staff (cos they were desperate) stating they had childcare facilities factually correct but bullshit cos anyone lower than Consultant level couldn’t afford it! So hoping you have amenable relatives?
  15. That’s tragic. I hope they’re well insured. Although this is exactly the sort of event that has insurance companies desperate not to pay out. I can’t see you’d be looking at anything other than demolition, hopefully some engineering genius will secure the building and roll it to firm ground.
  16. Hmm nice try. Maybe one day you’ll manage to land something.
  17. Sounds like a plan Stan. I’d be up for a bit of trail riding but probably best not on the Bandit, that is assuming it lives past its current hiccup. Had a look at the pics n posts on the other place. The flooding situation looks dire, as if anyone in hospitality needs another knock Great pic. Are you using a camera phone?
  18. “methinks the lady doth protest too much“
  19. How lovely to see you here. What with you being an intelligent man you may find it difficult to sink low enough to enjoy yourself though, try a large glug of whisky and letting rip, seems to work for everyone else So it’s all off for this year then? Ive been checking in every week or so but have been a bit busy so don’t know what the score is. I’ll have a look later. Nice avi, nice panniers, nice bike, great pics.
  20. Some soft medical professionals would suggest ointments but the hardcore simply shave the infected area off with a cheese grater, rash removal 100% guaranteed.
