Jeezus wept the price of parts.
Slowlycatchymonkey replied to Slowlycatchymonkey's topic in MOTORCYCLE CHAT
I just can’t be arsed with face book. It doesn’t like the privacy settings I use so it blocks me. Facebook and Google track every single thing visited, Google will accept being blocked (mostly) but Facebook oh no they won’t have it so sod ‘em. I tried to join the Bandit forum quite a few days ago but they don’t want me either cos I’m still waiting for admin to approve me... do they know you over there Pete? Having said that I might now go and have a look -
I know they want to be compensated for the storing n sorting of parts and there would be significant overheads involved in this but I can’t believe the price of some of it. Pannier racks arrived today so went to have a look at how to fix them on and barely touched the pillion foot peg when it fell to the floor, it’s snapped off near the bolt end. When I saw the price of the individual parts I was very grateful it had hadn’t flown off during a ride. Get a load of these prices. Yes they are genuine Suzuki parts but it’s still eye watering. I only need part 23 but £64.30?! I’ve emailed a parts warehouse selling on eBay that does two pegs for a tenner but all the spares for the bandit state they’re good up to year 2011, mines 2012 when the bike changed

Disposing of a body after committing a murder!

The 200+ injuries and deaths a year would suggest there’s a few wallies that do. Suppose when you work with it everyday it’s easy to become complacent -
Some really great pics there. Just read the specs for the Beta Alp, looks great. Only 108kg (dry) and 830mm seat height puts it on my list!

Accidental deaths the way to go, no need to try n cover it up then. The xripper reminded me of a guy that came into A&E after sticking both his hands into a wood chipper to unjam it, unfortunately it did and well you can guess the rest, he screamed a lot. Turns out quite a few people get pulled into them every year, a grim end ay! -

On the farm Id consider a slurry tank. A tank filled with 100s of thousands of gallons of fermenting effluent, granted the body would never be completely gone but no-one would ever get in there, the methane alone would knock out any nosey Parker’s. If they found the body thats exactly what happened, overwhelmed by fumes they simply fell in.. it happens. Maybe @Richzx6r should take his neighbours for trip to the farm? -

My thoughts exactly. Wild campings “Leave no trace” would be best. -

Dead bodies (human and animal) have a lot of air in em so you’d have to do a lot of jumping up and down on it to break the rib cage etc and release the gases otherwise the spot just sinks down as the gases escape. Best return a few days later with some of that spare soil to level things up again I reckon. -
Well once upon a time a wee psycho tried to kill my sister in law, she ran to our house and the coward was too scared to follow her here so all was well but for a while after he was released I did have a hammer handy. The way I saw it the only chance I stood if I was on my tod was to hide behind the door and have one good swing! Might have back fired horribly but at least I wouldnt have gone down without a fight

Creative. I like it. I’m always wary of any body dismemberment at any scene you can be connected to though, DNA’s a sneaky bugger, one little hair, one missed blood spot before the bleach.. and the smelting of metal parts? Its a bit involved for a non smelter. The locker ideas a goer though, sinking stuff in waters always been a winner, so long as its well weighted down, floaty little bloaters that we are. I understand the M5 was very popular with the Krays, a lot of cement went down. -
I always thought Harleys main issue (aside from the price tag) was that they survived. The classic Harley look is a stand out amongst any icon. They pull off a look that kids dream of owning and everyone has enjoyed at some point. The level of fuss and people falling over themselves to be complimentary about other bikes of the past that have been revived like Bonneville, Bullet, Indian wouldnt be happening if they too had survived. If Harley had disappeared taking its V twin and volcanic chrome with it people would be wetting their pants over it now (moist ) but because it has been ever present its in my view not properly appreciated.

Let’s hear your favoured method then, or maybe your second favourite, you probably dont want your most used on a public forum, the police might put two and two together.. and still come up with seven. -

‘Bread’ is an old slang word for money. I think its old cockney but you might remember the ancient situation comedy ‘Bread’ by Carla Lane (diabolical but there was little on back then so I shamedly watched it) about a Liverpudlian family doing a bit of benefit fraud and putting money in a pot on the kitchen table? A breadhead is someone who worships at the alter of the money gods.

The way I view it is me and Mr Slowly have always been destined to be together so the date and time doesn’t matter, tis wot it is
-
You’ve got one up on me, I never remember the date or how many years, nevermind every year it gives Mr Slowly the anniversary gift of looking at me in an incredulous manner
