  1. More the stupid risks without the results. I hope your not mistakenly thinking that I think I’m good. I dont. I have the propensity to be stupid in certain conditions.
  2. I appreciate what your saying but I don’t think you have the addiction Im talking about, I think we are talking about different things. You’re probably a good driver because you have control and your end goal is the speed itself rather than the thrill of being so close to edge. To go back to the original analogy an alcoholic can’t have one drink. I don’t have driving emotions that need to be spent. I have behaviours that should be avoided. What other people do is of no consequence to me (unless they’re in my way) so there are no notches available to come down. The easiest way to describe it is if you drive at the upper limits of your ability you will allow let’s say a 10% margin for error. I would take my margin of error down to the tiniest percentage just for the thrill. It’s irrelevant who’s fastest or how quickly I went round a track because what thrills me is that risk of removing the margin of error. Which is inherently stupid.
  3. The problem occurs for me when you get to the edge you are chasing and want more. I always want more and am prepared to cut it as fine as fine can be when it comes to getting that thrill. Tbh I used to be a complete twat for it and nowadays with all the cameras I would have lost my licence and know I’m lucky to be alive. Then I had kids and didn’t want to put them at risk so switched to and automatic car. It’s was hideous, I felt an enormous pain having an OAPs car and no longer enjoying driving but everyone was safe so it was wise. I have no desire to reopen that Pandora’s box and sadly a manual vehicle on a track would do just that.
  4. I dunno, I look at Pedro’s vids and think “Hell yeh” (apart from the other cars getting in the way which would annoy me) but on the other hand when I say I have I had a problem with speed it’s not a little joke so this for me is like encouraging an alcoholic to have a drink! Not wise at all.
  5. Well I prefer louder voices, it’s a bonus! People who are too quietly spoken always come across as lacking any conviction in the things they are saying and if it turns into a mumble I can’t be bothered at all ?
  6. Try taking ‘LADIES’ out of the title and changing it to Nurburgring, jus the word ‘Ladies’ is too much for some ?
  7. Portugal frequently tops the best biking roads lists so it’s gonna be downhill from there ? But for me the only way is up. There’s a song in there somewhere ?
  8. I don’t think I’ve ever stumbled across a hedgehog that needs rescuing. Almost every other type of wildlife but never a hedgehog. Must be a front for money laundering.... in Cheddar.... ?
  9. 24.5bhp would be a pretty fast way to piss everyone else off I reckon ? Might take my r ninet but likely the Bandit 1250 for comfort over the distance. Bought it as a winter hack but it’s turned out to be a lot more fun than I anticipated.
  10. Could be worse, could have been over a year since you set foot in any of Spain ? Joking aside I get it, it sucks. Like a lot of other people I was patient for the first year but now its run out, I NEED to travel!
  11. Step away from the thread @Pedro theres nothing to see here ?
  12. If its bumpier than where I live I’ll eat my hat ?
  13. Nice work ? What are you spending the change on??
  14. The stars are in alignment (whatever that means) and Nürburgring is ? calling youooeeoo ooeeeoooo ? Well thats a nice ol’ friend to have. The plot thickens, we await the next instalment! ?
  15. https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a27424/dissected-duck-and-cover/ Its a fairly large mechanism underneath to make that happen (see pic in above link) but impressive all the same. I always wonder if the people who work in the showroom can ever afford the cars they sell and what that must feel like to spend your days flogging stuff youre unlikely to ever afford.
  16. I thought they only let in pensioners? ? Welcome Rikki
  17. I’m not doing the organising of this trip someone else (whose a competent person) is doing it so I dont know where we’re going. Nürburgring, black forest, Mosel, Luxembourg and Belgium have all been mentioned though ? He chooses Eiffel because its quiet. Everyone who has been before mentions the tarmac is like silk. That they take road maintenance seriously and will resurface a whole road rather than let it fall into disrepair and patch it up like they do here. Im really looking forward to the Autobahn ? I heard theyre starting to push for a speed limit to reduce CO2 emissions but its very unpopular. Aah cone free roads, I thought they only existed in my dreams!
  18. My favourite West Country farmer saying- Its as glittery as shittery. Cow shit shines when its wet so even a turd can shine, doesnt mean its something good. Suppose its a bit like “all that glitters is not gold”
