Durr. Take a look at most countries involvement in slavery in the past and ongoing. The point was the people who come from other countries can still take pride in their flag regardless of political beliefs or their past. Not so here, its sadly associated with certain folk that many others dont want to have anything to do with. Avoiding getting political, regardless of what anyone did in the past the English are constantly apologising for whatever the psychopath of the day did, you cant fly an UK flag here without looking like a moron. Edit- I’m not saying its right, I’m saying its the way it is now.

Great report. Glad I waited until I had time to read it properly ? I wonder if people who live there find it hard to suspend belief if they watch a film and think “hang on thats my back yard” ? “Pastilla, which is a some of sweet and sour pastry” is that sweet and sour as in a salt and sugar mix? Really looking forward to getting to Morocco. It is in my mind one of those places that seems exotic enough to provide new delights but tame enough not to frighten. I think a good start for my husband. Did you have paper maps as well?

I’m pretty sure that’s Doc from back to the future!

Electrics and automotive were the applications I remember but they seemed to think it would be useful for pretty much everything and yet Ive seen it nowhere ?

@yen_powell I dont know what your area of expertise is so ignore this if it means bugger all to you but a while back I was hearing lots of amazing things about Graphene. There was even a Nobel prize awarded for work into it. This marvellous super strong plastic was destined to transform a lot of things and yet it seemed to just disappear off the radar?

How depleted? ? Great post. Enjoyed that a lot. Anything I read that causes my finger to point in the air while my tiny brain processes the words is always good ? I’m most surprised given how much human biology Ive had to study and that a lack of molybdenum can cause (amongst other things) lens dislocation and I didnt know about it. I’m guessing its rare or given its properties it would be more commonly used? Is the “youth opportunity scheme” the same as the ‘youth training scheme’?

Ah Ive got that one and not yet read it. Still chewing my way through Hunter S Thompson’s Hell Angels. Look forward to hearing what you think.

First time I heard it it really made me laugh too, so much so that when some of us were treated to a brief visit from animation company that lent all their equipment for us to make a film I used it. I co-wrote the story line about a nuclear power station that was badly built blowing up and the then government all cramming in a van with Bodgit n Scarper written on the side before closing themselves in a shelter and leaving everyone else outside. It was shown at the London film festival amongst others and went down pretty well that these 12 year old kids had made this short. So well that we were made to take it to private schools and show the privileged that pleb school kids did this thing. Unfortunately I hadn’t particularly disguised the politicians faces, just cut them out of the newspaper with a very unflattering outline (Id given Norman Tebbit a particularly sinister cut ?) so they always went the same way- everyone was friendly and pleasant and we were welcomed with tea and cake then the very short film was shown and silence would descend before we left under scowling eyes ? In our own way we’d had to bodge it and scarper ?

@skyrider did you ever chew your way to the end of that book that started off reasonably well and then he just became a bit annoying? I think it was called Uneasy Rider?

Lol nice work ? I went on one trip where I gained a greater understanding of why fragging occurs and had detailed thoughts about how I should shove him off the side of a mountain (because it would be for the greater good) and if Id get away with it so I know that pain ? What did he fix with rocks? I’m guessing its one of those things you dont desire to do twice?!

Ok now I’m finding myself thinking along Xtremes lines cos deliberately seeking out that stuff for your delicates isn’t right! I just stored normal bog paper in a waterproof pouch... like a normal person would... What’s this about the Sahara? Pics? Thread? What were you doing there and all that jazz?

Dunno what these are but they where nice enough for me to take a photo back in 2018 at the Haynes museum. Loved the solidity of them. The quality of the materials and the pure luxury of the interiors, like they were excited to craft something exceptional.
