  1. Jeezus, is this a computer aided design? Or the work of masochists?! Battery removal on a Himalayan is nowhere near as bad BUT it looks like all you have to do is remove the side panel and there it is, oh no no no. You will be feckin about trying to move wires and things that are fixed in position for sometime only to discover once they may seem wrestled to reasonable distance that the angle of the battery says NOO Took an experienced mechanic over 20 minutes before he yielded to my suggestion to remove the seat and go in from the top. And even then I didn’t have the Spanish available to explain you need a two long screwdrivers to lever it from behind and pull it from the front at the same time It’s just really annoying because it looks straightforward and it’s not, you need a minimum of one decent YouTube tutorial before even looking at the fecker
  2. It just doesn't sound like it should take long! But then neither does changing a battery on a Himalayan
  3. Fucking hell. Do you remember a while back I did Lands End to John O'Groats with Nathan Millward, well the England part anyway? One of the guys on that trip I thought was a really intelligent genuine guy. He was shy or perhaps just reserved and a bit guarded as it was his first trip with other people and he said he's not a mixer but Mr Slowly and I got on with him well. He is one of those quiet competent types that doesn't get phased easily and it was Mr Slowly's first group trip too so they had common ground. Well you know I don't bother with Facebook so it's taken 9 days for this info to reach my ears. He went on Nathans alps trip, had an RTA and is in hospital in Grenoble paralysed from the waist down. I'm absolutely gutted. Anyway. If you haven't seen it and have some cash you could do without here's the link https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/nathan-millward?fbclid=IwAR0MTalllNzJ1huVlMX6oN9I1mb97iVY7gOkeWN94YaS9rx1m5FXqjU81Xo and Nathans heartfelt post to please help https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid02RyCwK7evdwmprEcRkxGTbBp5Mkj1KknNYQZY3PZ36nWM1z9bSVPjsmZmHWyYRAEAl&id=100063935761310&comment_id=798024365066580
  4. Looks like they simply got confused about which ones their mum
  5. It looks nice but when I see pot plants I just see needy buggers that will take up my time
  6. I forgot I already knew that, can you catch dementia from a forum?
  7. I normally have a Full English breakfast once every two or three months so it was a surprise to be eating it two days in a row. Yesterday my son appeared and said I fancy a Full English, would you like one? Next thing I know he's been shopping and is serving up the an excellent breakfast for everyone. He really nailed it. Might have to admit to being a tiny bit proud, not many people master getting all the components on the table piping hot and nicely cooked but he did. The bacon was crispy and he even put a touch of garlic in the butter for the mushrooms. I had this small one, everyone else's was about double the size! I did feel like Mr Creosote by the end of it and have to lie down for an hour after
  8. Got some good food delivered this morning. I'll be doing a bit of smoked salmon scrambled egg for breakfast and have some ingredients for a kettle cook experiment of cheesecake. I feel that it's a bit ambitious for a kettle cook. I'll post a pic of the mess later
  9. Very interested to hear about this. I made a mental note of the one Henry Cole banged on about being the best in one of his shows. I know nothing about them and the google reviews aren't great! Here's the link anyway - https://www.stchrome.co.uk/previous-work My father in law was for a while big into restoring old Saabs. He used Doug Taylor probably just because he's nearby but the work was really good. Lovely thick glossy coatings. When I enquired about chroming a mudguard the email response I got from them was very straight forward and sensible, essentially saying it wasn't a good idea and best leave it alone. I find that sort of thing reassuring. https://dougtaylor.co.uk
  10. Did you get your aircon fixed?
  11. Totally agree has to be done and theres some truly great stuff. I’ve watched Jay Leno’s garage chats more than once. He has an awesome collection. Apparently he’s not a bad chat show host either? I didn’t quite get the response from Mr Slowly about Leno’s garage I was expecting but I assume everyone knows about it! However we are already discussing what bikes we’d use n how to do it, before now it looked like something I’d have to make happen just for me but he’s well on board with the idea
  12. You're just jealous of a good pic!
  13. I wouldn't engage, most of them don't understand rugby weight is different to normal weight.
  14. But no clingfilmed men in your camera roll enabling me to postulate you're in the closet
  15. Something nice - Have been talking for a while about going to America and riding about a bit. Little bits of info have been slowly piling up in my 'Ride America' file but it's way off at the moment. Maybe 2025 maybe not, all depends on how things are here. Today my Texan friend who is a bit of a petrol head said he has a very good friend that has worked for Jay Leno for 30 years and if I was going to Los Angeles and I'd like to he could arrange for me to see his collection. How cool would that be. Makes me want to go right now! I didn't say the highlight will be the Evel Knievel museum but I was tempted
  16. Never ceases to amaze me how many men post pics of women way out of their league with unpleasant comments and yet in real life they would fall over themselves and still only make it to less than no. 50 (at best) in a long queue. They also never seem to have a mirror
  17. Get a load of this. It's truly repugnant so don't watch unless you want to be revolted! https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2023/07/21/watch-mallorca-locals-struggle-to-get-their-heads-around-disgusting-video-of-dutch-tourist-defecating-on-sleeping-mans-head/
  18. Now now, partner comments are off limits! And he makes that guy look weedy
  19. @yen_powell I'd guess being different shapes they offer different load bearing so it strengthens the arc?
  20. Had to look that up because those odd shapes don't really make sense to me, still don't get it because I discovered Marc Isambard Brunel is an actual person (who incidentally designed tunnel shields) and is Isambard kingdom brunels dad?! How can I not know about Isambard Kingdom Brunel's dad? I live near Bristol and had to study the bugger at school?!
  21. Don't worry if there was, they won't hang around long, they never do, can't imagine why
  22. She-Hulk It's awful, lightweight tripe. But I can't stop watching it
  23. Not quite but it does means she now qualifies for a disability allowance.
  24. That is a very nice jacket. Looking good. I particularly love that I can perhaps detect a little bit of a smile?!
