Soz, it’s been manic. IRL is sometimes insane. Picked bike up. It waaay surpassed my (very low) expectations but it was so late it was pitch black and I froze my way to my dads house where my brother (who lives in Scotland) has been waiting for a week to say hello. Then both my boys arrived from Uni and a pre-party party occurred (lot of unexpected work if you’re the keeper of the kitchen) and today is Mr Slowly’s birthday which entails some efforts. Plus trying to negotiate buying a flat in Brizzle, which I think I may have failed at. Heyho. Am knackered. But somehow you right royal turds are also on my mind so I’m checking in to say Hi gays guys well after fecking 3am in the morning before I finally get a snooze. Bike pics and review imminent, well.. quite later than imminent when I can get the extremely pretty bastid thing out of the garage and ride it… laters. Also HAPPY SUNDAY now cos tomoz isn’t looking any quieter

I don’t see it as cruel. It’s just religion, Buck dishes it out left right and centre on any topic including religion and he’s unlikely to be offended. Insulting someone never involves being a better person and theres rarely a justification for any of it other than having a laugh. Yer It’s a great pic.

No from what they’ve said they don’t. Explaining something isn’t being righteous. The religion stuff depends on the recipient and the insult. Bucks a big boy, he likes dishing it out (“two faced cow ”) so he can take it. I wouldn’t insult Tym’s catholicism although the person you think I’m being “abusive” to about religion has let rip on it. You’re obviously a bit sensitive about religion so I won’t do it to you. But… freedom of speech and all that

Thanks Bob but if I’d wanted a proper conversation about whether using gay as insult was ok or not I wouldn't bother doing it on here cos the outcome is a forgone conclusion, it’ll kick off the freedom of speech stuff I thought (and it did) and I’ll get insulted for offering a different view point. I was saying something on the other thread that because it didn’t fit with others beliefs you pulled out and turned into something. Everyone else’s gay stuff didn’t cause that reaction cos the majority here find it acceptable. The guy who who started that thread said he found it a bit homophobic.

There’s always a danger when trying to explain something that people find contentious that they will think it’s your point of view and you’re trying to take something away from them or impose rules on them. All I’ve done is explain why some people find it offensive and they vote with their feet. I did also say I find it boring but I just scroll past it. I’m not some vesicle for people to dump their frustrations of modern life on. I trying to help people understand why other generations don’t like it.

Thats very good. Usually when people start banging on about free speech they usually ruin it by saying something nasty but that was great.

I’m not pretending everyone is prejudiced. If it pissed me off I wouldn’t be here would I. I’m trying to explain why some people do find it offensive. Me simply trying to explain it seems to be too much for some to bear.
