  1. Florida, Gulf of Mexico, 1989, Nikon F801s film camera
  2. Not very high Pete, they're too small otherwise, that's the trouble they're damned fast and hard to pan with when close enough to get a decent shot, at a guess maybe 40-50ft
  3. These buggers aren't easy to catch in flight but got one eventually Swift - Apus apus Swift by name, swift by nature
  4. One from the garden this afternoon Red Kite - Milvus milvus
  5. Can you believe that all this was within walking distance of where Pete used to live, a short walk from Mumbles to Caswell Bay.... Seals, Cormorants, Common Linnets, Rare Choughs, Goldfinch, Rock Pipits, Stunning scenery, Guillemots, Song Thrush, Stonechats, Buzzard, Scarlet Tiger Moth And he buggered off to a very brown Spain
  6. It wasn't a "Jam sandwich" it was older than that, all blue old shape Rover 3.5, 1974
  7. Yeah, apparently it still has to be taxed but at £0, no records now so I'd guess it has been scrapped for a very long time However the police car that used to stop us all the time as kids is still on record SMP619M it was a 3.5 rover
  8. No idea mate, I would seriously doubt it Can't check it like modern vehicles as if it still existed it would be classed as an historical vehicle and exempt from MOT and Tax
  9. My Dad's Lambretta, bought in 1955 for £155 plus 7/6p tax He kept it until 1973, Pete would never have a bike that long
  10. They all look very different if you actually look but I suppose it's a bit like car drivers "not seeing" bikers, they just don't really look conciously
  11. Nice route that, done it several times, except the bit to Cardiff
  12. The tiniest Bee you ever did see A "Small Scissor Bee" feeding in the Bluebells in my garden, these are very small at around 7mm long fully grown Here it is again with it's parasol, "chillin'" after a meal In the UK we have about 270 Bee species, 250 of which are solitary Bees Next time you watch them feeding, make a note of how different they all are Here's a Wool Carder Bee from my garden
  13. Some shots of the Gower and Swansea Loughor estuary Rhossili Bay and Beach The Blue Pool, Broughton Worm's Head Three Cliffs Bay Swansea All taken from a light aircraft:
  14. I think Yen has been working in Wales as there's a lot of crappy adverse cambers Headed up the A4067 to Defynnog, A4215 over to the A470 stopped at Terry's burger van for a crappy overpriced burger, tasted OK though, headed south to pick up the "sheep mountain road" (A4059)past Hirwaun and up Rhigos mountain, dropped down the other side into Treherbert and Treorchy, up the Bwlch Mountain (no bloody icecream van ), through Abergwynfi and into Pontrhydyfen, under the Aqueduct and on to Cimla, Neath then home, 85 miles in all Scooter was great hitting an indicated 80mph on some mountain roads and nearly a ton up on the small stretch of motorway on the last leg to home, but I think Yen made the speedos on these as that clearly isn't right the wind on my gonads disagrees with the indicated figures Scoot handles great, very pleased with how it's solid even in strong winds. Disclaimer, all photos are crappy phone shots as although I had a proper camera with me I couldn't be arsed to get it out, I could just be arsed to get my phone out of my pocket so I did my best with that Also, the photos seem to have arranged themselves in any old random fashion they felt like Pontrhydyfen, the home of Sir Richard Burton and I think Anthony Hopkins or some other Welsh bloke who sold his soul to join the Hollywood pussies: Tom Jones is from near here too as is Rob Brydon and a Welsh lady who made some cakes and inventively named them Welsh Cakes DUH! The Bwlch: Rhigos: Sheep Mountain: A470 - Terry's Burger Van £5 for this piece of crap: A4215 Crai Reservoir, off the A4067:
  15. Cardiff Bay - The Senedd, Pier Head and Millenium Building
