Welcome! Happy birthday, if a tad late.
-
I remember visiting this castle and others in the area about fifteen years or so ago. The Carthar castles are all worth a trip. Great photo opportunities. Unfortunately I can't find mine.
-
Great example of fixation.
-
Excellent Fred! I'd have been knackered just doing that on roads.

Nice RR. Brings back the memories. I've been to two events there. A great day out. Were there many contestants? The last time I went there it seemed quiet compared with how it was the time before.
-
I wouldn’t expect anything less. I can remember my mate Ralphie with his broad valleys twang trying to communicate with a Glaswegian receptionist at a hotel in Fort William. I was laughing too much to translate for them.

Also language and cultural differences. Leeks for instance!
-
I consider parts of Wales where the Welsh language is the main language as being Welsh Wales: parts of north, west and mid Wales for example.

I've managed to ride that road on two occasions so it must be really easy! Except for that ford - nearly dropped it.
-
Too long! Probably about six weeks maybe. I think that the tracker draws a fair bit of juice. Same with the GS.
-
Nice day for a ride. Battery flat. Maybe tomorrow.

Why is it that every time I consider getting on the bike the forecast is shit, or it forecasts rain and when I'm doing something else there's dry weather all day? Time was that I used to go out in all weathers but truth be told I have now become a fair weather rider. The strange thing is that I don't really mind a lot if I'm on a tour or similar. No choice then I suppose. Do my fellow geriatrics also find that their riding habits are more weather dependant than they used to be? Moving to Spain is not an option!

I’ve been following that rebuild, all a bit concerning. I can’t watch him any more. His videos seem to have more posing and less interesting content. Just watched, skipped most of it, his trip to Wales. Sitting at a table in Elan Valley, and a lot about a cafe near Abergavenny. That’s Wales? You’re right Pete. Small wonder that people consider him a twat. He did like the Transalp though.

Aha! Thought it was yours.
-
Not surprised! He was really flying along on his Scottish trip. He blanks out the speedo.
-
He went around the globe on a GXSR a while back, pre beard, and is now doing a series of vlogs of it being reconditioned. Ex cop in the protection lot.
-
I used to live up there. Been there, done it. Last time it was a dinner do and was a lot of fun. Car abandoned and party train to Pwllheli.

Portmeirion? Overpriced and overrated!
-
Well said. Same here.

Bob got the vote ‘cause I like the photo.

R1300GS is lighter and a lot quicker by all accounts. All horribly expensive, and too heavy.
