  1. Damp!! Tell me about it. We are waiting for date for the guys to come and sort out our kitchen and bathroom ceilings. There is more culture on our ceilings than there is in Australia.
  2. We are very conventional in what we eat, my wife does not like curry of Chinese or Indian food, but she will buy me a Indian (ready) meal from Asda, then complain that evening that i stink I can cook a Sunday meal. Potatoes at 1pm. Veg at 1.10pm Joint at 1.20pm And Yorkshire puddings either burnt or underdone. My timing is crap.

And we have a huge Peony on our front garden (no photos) which we dug up out of sis in laws garden when she moved house, in her garden it was red, in ours it has turned pink.

We had a Lavender Bush in our front garden, but that had to go as it was a snail hotel. I planted a Cherry tree, that is doing well, and Acer (Japanese maple) this does not seem to be flourishing, hardly grown in the past few years. Found a tree/shrub on our walk around the park last week, I do not know what it is, but its (at the moment) leaves are red and orange, took a cutting to see if it will grow..

I also grow a Scarlet variety too, they look almost black, but only last in flower for a couple of days, they flower but the petals fall off in a slightest breeze, I only grow them on the rear garden next to a fence panel for (wind) protection, sometime they last 1 week I flower.

Now is the time to start germinating/growing them....i try to stagger the germination a little so they do not all flower at the same time.

As said, after the flowers have died away and the heads have dried out I collect the seeds and freeze them for a while. It is not absolutely necessary to do this.....but if you let nature take its course and let the seeds fall into the soil some will germinate.....but I have found that it will be not very many.....one year we only had 4 flowers.

The ones on our front garden are in the sun most of the day, but they do suffer if it is windy.....no shelter. The ones on the back are mostly in the shade of the trees and 6ft high fence, but they grow just fine. When ours are nearly to full height i put a cane support next to them for support.....the stalk/stems are easily broken by the wind.

Week 3 was when we started to feel a bit better. We feel 90% better now..........but the slightest physical exertion and I need to sit down....everything seems like hard work......cough gone though.

Sorry for the late reply.......They are Paeony Poppies...they grow about 1 metre tall...look very nice, but do not last very long, wind or rain soon destroys them...but look very nice when in full flower.

    Result!

Nobody in my family had deafness....i am the 1st.....tinnitus, right ear is absolutely silent, left ear sound like the sound you hear on a airplane when it's flying....a constant hum, had it for so long that I have learnt to ignore it, it's worse at night, so loud it is deafening.

It is lonely, and getting more so for me....my wife and daughter are very good, look straight at me and talk clearly, it does help being in a quiet environment (no TV or radio blasting away) but most people seem to mumble nowdays...daughter in law is the worst... As I said to another member, one thing I really miss is music.

Think being a lorry driver helped.....only had outside mirrors to see behind, and always checking for vehicles hiding just outside the mirrors blind spots, or some cyclist with a death wish riding up the inside of the lorry........spent more time looking out for other drivers and having to drive accordingly.

Emergency vehicles nope can't hear them at all........ But I do take more care at junctions and use my eyes and mirrors much more when driving/riding about. Good rider nope I am competent...
