I know a couple of people who say the same thing.

Headache gone.....but throat, and chest feels the same.........cough definitely no better. Hope that there will be some improvement tomorrow.. Fucked up the few Christmas plans we had....

Any idea where he is?

Daughter tested us with a bog standard Lateral Flow test kit......they use them at the care home home where she works.......daughter said it was positive Wife seems a bit better than me.....she does not have the bad cough like I have.........but as said...its this damn headache.......had it since midday yesterday.........it no worse...but its no better.

Yeh a positive result ...........feel like shit.......and i can't get rid of this headache..

Same as our sofa.....SCS wanted us to pay £100 delivery from the manufacturers factory to us.......I said "iam buying it from here not from the factory".....but the sales guy said that's company policy......told him to stuff his sofa.

I loose my temper when they come up with £40 delivery........£20 delivery I may have said OK......but £40 for a couple of miles!!.....sod that.......I could hire a van for half a day for £40

So very true......same with most household items now it seems. It's being delivered this Friday............but not holding my breath.

Rung AO....no delivery till well into the New Year.........so our daughter has ordered one out of her catalogue....a Indesit model......no date for delivery yet.....we will pay our daughter the full amount...not messing about with terms. I have looked at our washer....the drum is a sealed (bonded) unit.....can buy a new one but it is £190 ......the washer we ordered is £210.

Washing machine broken .....inside rear bearing gone.....sounds like it has a building brick in it when washing......Currys have a basic one in stock.....but I ain't paying 40 quid delivery....we only live 2 mile from their store...gits.

My grandmother had a Singer treadle sewing machine that stood in her front room...I never remember her using it for anything other than a table.

That's what the government want.....pay in all your working life....but take nothing out. Maybe I was a little better prepared for retirement.....as I was on just above the minimum wage for many years before I retired so my monthly take home pay was around 1200 per month....and my wife missed the last six years of her working life due to her ailments....so the drop in income was not so profound. But someone earning say 35,000 quid a year to drop down to basic state pension is one hell of a drop in living standards.

The worst of it is they are still taking out many millions each year......The NUM have lobbied to have this theft stopped....but each government continues with the practice.

No that will continue.........it should be double that amount...but a one eyed Scotchman raided the NUM pension scheme so effectively halving my monthly payments

@boboneleg......I receive a small pit pension which is $80 (no pound sign on this tablet) per month.........and I receive $160 per month attendance allowance....this finishes in early 2024......but I will try to claim it again.

I expect the scoot and car will have to go if we end up on a basic pension.

I am not sure what will happen in early 2024 (assuming iam still breathing ) when my extra payment is due to finish......we could be up the proverbial creek then.

Me and my wife can live on the pension we receive.... although she receives less than me.....even with my extra allowance it's tough in the present climate with seemingly everything going up......we can live...but can't save anything.
