  2. Trouble getting into another country!.......i have trouble getting into the next county!
  3. Sounds like a dangerous idea to me.
  4. Just another (wet) ordinary day in lockdown here. Hope she is fine.
  5. Next week does not look too bad, but a tad chilly at times.
  6. At the time my VFR 750 was the bike that i said was a keeper.......but life got in the way and i had to sell it, regretted it for years, no other bike that i have owned had the same effect.
  7. Have a good trip, weather looks OK for it.
  8. No plans (as usual) here.....BSB final this weekend so I think that and a bit of gardening will pass my weekend. Mablethorpe beach racing this Sunday too.. ☺
  9. Nah...she is enjoying her European tour..........................maybe.
  10. I have a Galaxy A21s, no redeeming features, camera not much cop, forever saying memory is nearly full, fuck knows why as I only have 20 or so photos stored on it, and only 2 more apps installed than it came with, slow as fuck too, but I only use it to look on here, YouTube and WhatsApp messages. It's OK for my needs.
  11. Sun has just come out, so I may change my mind......get my ass out of this chair for a hour.
  12. No rain here ☺ so should I cut the grass for the last time this year? Nah..
  13. My condolences @Buckster
  14. There was a car fire at Glasgow Airport this morning, not seen any reports about it since.
  15. Looks a mess on the upper levels. Seen on the news that some flights went to Stansted, but the airlines did not seem much help in getting passengers to Luton to hopefully collect their cars.
  16. Dad in law never gave it the chance. Nephew moved with his job to Australia 5 years ago, he says he ain't ever coming back here, except for visiting family occasionally. He says the first year or so was not very good, living in a tiny flat, but he now has a nice place in the suburbs of Sydney and a good job with decent pay. It's working out for him.
  17. He already had a job lined up with a mining company (Dosco Hollybank) and all he had to do was say yes and sign the paperwork, but he had slight reservations about housing and the area he was moving to, and backed out....said it was one of the worst decisions he made in his life..
  18. Good for you. hope everything turns out as you have planned....as I have said before, my dad in law told me years ago to buy a one way ticket out of a England, he was mad at himself for not taking up emigrating to Australia in the early 1960,s. We may have some (tough) decisions to make in the near future, about our future.
  19. Passed it many times, but i have never been in the place, use (when I was at work) to look clean and tidy then.
  20. Missed meeting a living legend......Should have took you up on the offer i can't afford to buy coffee on this pension.
  21. Some parts of retirement I enjoy, not living by the clock, getting a decent night's sleep, but sitting in the bungalow day after day after day is like being in prison, or back in Lockdown....the less I do, the less I am inclined too. Having nothing much to look forward to does not help either, I cannot say I look forward to 4 days in a caravan in Mablethorpe like I did for 2 weeks in the sun in the Med. ☀
  22. Both of them are on (or very near) minimum wage, son in law works in the hospital, but he does not work for the NHS, it is a contacted out company he works for, so he receives none of the NHS benefits = pension or wage rises. Daughter is 2nd in command at a care home, which is a industry with historical low pay, but that is the way most companies around here....."Minimum Wage Satisfied" is on 99.9% of jobs advertised in this area. I hoped we would be OK in retirement, but that didn't turn out as expected.
  23. He works in he catering department at our local hospital, he is responsible for allocating everything to feed the staff and patients, quite a responsible job, but his wage does not reflect the position and responsibility he holds.
