Nice one Pete, that looks like a decent trip I'm sure why you keep banging on about your bike being the most reviled bike on the forum ? It's only the peeps with the huuuuuuuuuuuuuge bikes saying that , they need to have a huge bike or they can't get a hard-on

So after the puncture/breakdown debacle I was chomping at the bit to see what the cause was today. Out came the rear wheel, the tyre was removed and the culprit was revealed ............ The valve had come free of the tube, that explains the instant deflation. On inspection the area around the valve hole was showing signs of corrosion. Not great on a set of wheels that are only 15 months old The rim tape was also destroyed from riding 7 miles on a flat tyre............... I've cleaned up the rim , mounted a new rim tape, tube and new tyre. I'll carry on with the rest of it on Tuesday .

I watched the film Fisherman's Friends last night . I sure I saw @Saul in there somewhere

Most of it Fred, we only had about 8 lanes left to do and I did those two weeks ago. I can't wait to get the tyre off and see what caused the instant deflation. My money is on a HD tube with a big tear in it .

I'm sure the 250 is an ex Neil Hudson bike. Back in the day before he became World 250 MX champion we used to try and get up the same coal tips as him and his brother at Pensford. Obviously we wern't quite as successful as them two https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Hudson_(motorcyclist)

We've probably got more than that in Louigi Moto

@Sir Fallsalot am I right in thinking that wood burning stoves will become illegal soon ? Our neighbour has one and I'm sure he said something like that a while back ?

We'd been riding in 40c temps in Bardenas Reale in Spain and then coming back up through France the twat was hammering along at 70-80mph. The mousse couldn't take it and decided the make an exit, it took the rear tyre off and locked up the back wheel .
-
He was sent into the central reservation but survived unhurt
-
You could say that
-
I ignored it as it would only be 6 steps for me

I don't trust mousse's Fred after I saw my mate's blow out on his KLX400 in France, that was bloody scary.

Ok short version of events. My mate gets a puncture (slow one) at 3.00pm , he needs to get back to Redditch by 5.00 pm as he has to collect his van from the garage, so I gave him my compressor so he could pump it up every so often. He says to me 'what if you get a puncture' , I say 'what are the chances of that ' . At 4.00pm with me heading home I get a blow out on the top of the Cotswolds, not a puncture but instant deflation sending me across the road but remaining upright . With no means of blowing the tyre up even if I put a new tube in it, I decided to ride 7 miles to Cirencester where there would be some civilisation for an easier recovery. I got there doing 20mph all the way and the tyre stayed on the rim but was f*cked, hence the need to ask for recovery. As long as my bike does get back here I will be phoning RAC customer services on Monday to ask them if they think their shitty service is acceptable.
-
Precisely, the latest estimate is that it's being collected at 5.00 pm . I'll believe it when I see it.
-
To my shame I haven't got around to it yet
-
Who are you watching ?
-
ask the wankers at RAC , i'm actually on the phone to them right now as it's still not back.
