If it's manual put it in second gear and push the car to rock it (this should be funny with his hernia). That may free up the starter (if it is that ). With the ignition on is there a click when you turn the key ? If there isn't then it could be the relay .

Sorry to say this but I bet it won't be that simple , my i-phone and my garmin Montana are sworn enemies if you try to get them to talk to each other directly. The best way for my application is to use Basecamp on my puter and transfer into the Montana from there. I have tried Garmin Connect , Garmin Drive and Garmin Explore but the i-phone says no
