I think it's the right way Dave as it's been letting fuel through but as you say it was starting to fall apart internally , probably was going to block the flow eventually. It was fitted by the previous owner along with a chain that reminds me of the 428 size chains we used to fit to our small bikes back in the 80's where it has stretched soooooooooooooo much I fitted a Kawasaki part to replace the fuel filter, do you think the engine will blow up now ? Crap materials used on the chassis rails, loose bolts , transmission faulty , lots of possible causes.

We used to call it 'crabbing' back in the day. The chassis has twisted , if that was spotted by the authorities (or any good transport manager) in UK it would be taken off the road.

From my 15 years experience of owning KTM's I'd say they're just as reliable as any Jap bikes. They just need more maintenance but on the upside genuine pares are often half the price of Jap parts ..............
