I'm back home now, I reckon I was probably three sheets to wind last night as I had to celebrate my birthday even though I'd forgotten about it. I must have got out of the tent at least four times to have a piss last night and it was feckin cold. Just had a great dinner cooked by my lovely wife. I'm going to stand for the two minutes silence at 20.00 hrs if for no other reason than to piss off @XTreme

That was the point I was trying to make @Pedro Most people here would use a tyre shop rather than go to a motorcycle dealer. Motorcycle shops here are generally not interested in fitting tyres. I fit my own but in the past when I have used a tyre shop I generally take the wheel off myself and then let them fit the tyre/tube.

So when you need new tyres you take your bike to a Motorcycle dealer/repair shop ?

Strange Marcel, we have a 916 in today with a coolant leak. We've run it up to temperature until the fans kick in and there is no leak whatsoever. I reckon a cat has pissed on the floor of his garage

What @Pedro and @yen_powell said about temperatures Modern tubes have a lot of butyl , much more than the natural rubber tubes we used to use years ago. How old are your tubes , are they the o/e tubes that came with the bike or has a previous owner replaced them with cheap shite ? As @Buckster said, buy the best tubes you can. I nearly always try to use Michelin tubes (personal choice) as they work well for me .

Pissing down here today, it's definitely going to get colder this weekend as I'm going camping on the bike

Nice one Pedro, I hope you deal with your emotions ok . It could be a roller coaster ride one way or another . I'm looking forward to some photos of the mighty GS in exotic locations already

I presume for maintenance, the M4 (Prince of Wales) bridge was open but that would have made it a longer journey and shitty roads.

No ride report from me today as first of all the Severn Bridge was closed then I diverted up onto the Cotswolds and there was bloody fog everywhere
