Fred's byway tale reminds me an incident back in the day. We were on an evening trail ride in the summer and coming down the last lane as it had just got dark. We rode through the ford and then turned a corner to find a Ford Sierra parked in the lane, there was no way we could get by it. As it was a warm evening you tell the windows were open by the 'noise' (even with our helmets on) coming from the occupants. There were now six riders on their bikes discussing what to do when we observed 'it', a skinny little bum bobbing up and down Judging by the increased noise we knew that it was not long to the end of the performance and so we waited until it went quiet and then in unison we put our lights on and sounded our horns, and clapped and whistled. I've never see a Ford Sierra move so bloody fast as that one did out of that lane and back onto the road

I don't have a leather jacket anymore as they make no sense for the sort of riding I do. I have still got my leather waistcoat though, last worn to a funeral in October 2019 .

What a behemoth, I suppose they'll sell in USA but I can't see them any use for UK roads ? -

I found this photo last night. A couple of years ago we're coming back up through France on back roads, we found a cafe in this small village and after a bit of very bad French and some arm waving we sat down outside to eat. We were really just wanting a snack but in true French fashion we got the full works and for only 13 euros including beer brewed on the premises, I don't have a photo of the main course or pudding but this was just the starter ?

Wow, I wish you luck . We can only dream about things like that at the moment.

Pete was asking about Gold beach and the WW2 Normandy invasion by the allies. I toured around the beaches in 2019 when I was on my way back up through France to get the ferry at Cherbourg. I had a bit of time on my hands and stayed overnight in Port en Bessin and then toured the beaches and sites of interest before getting the ferry back to UK. If anyone else has done the same bung your photos up here...............

That's a real shame Fred, get over here when you can and we'll do some classic Cotswolds lanes.

That looks bloody brilliant Chris, I'm so envious. To me, if you get off the main routes in France and get on the back roads there is always something interesting to see. My mate and me have come across war memorials even on trails in France.

So many great trails in the Rhondda, most of the best ones aren't on any maps

Nice one, I've definitely done it but I didn't recognise it at all .
