Now we've had a fair bit of rain recently so I was trying to decide whether or not to do the next lane. You have to ride in a stream for about 400yds and it can get deep but I decided to go for it. Unfortunately the photos are crap as the sun was coming though the bushes and one more narrow lane down over the hill to Stanton Prior before heading home..............
-
Next I dropped down over Ubley Drove where you get a great view of Blagdon Lake......... and then some more old lanes that I haven't ridden for about 5 years, it was good to ride these local lanes again..... Then I did the climb up Guy's Hill. This photo is taken from the top looking down (you have to ride back down it) but it doesn't do justice to the steepness of this lane. It's a great climb over rocks and tree routes but can be a real bitch when it's wet.......

Onto an old Drove Way on the Mendip Hills near Priddy........ This lane was well overgrown, this is what happens when you restrict the lanes from vehicular use, they get overgrown and then no one can use them
-
I love this old sign on the climb up from Croscombe, you know if you see that sign then the lane is going to be good...... and time for a coffee stop, I am saving a fortune during these Covid times by taking my own flask and sandwiches ? and

A lovely UCR (unclassified county road) looking down towards Shepton Mallet........ The next couple of lanes were a tad 'moist' after all the recent rain.......... Morning Girls , this lot made me chuckle...........

So I was out of the door by 07.00 yesterday as I was going to ride some local lanes and some of them are a bit contentious so best to go when no one else is around First lane is about 15 mins from my house and is always good to wake you up as you ford a stream first then it's a climb up over babies-head size rocks, then it levels out and is easy going......... Then down through Ringspit which has a width restriction on it to try and stop the 4x4's from trashing it........ and then onto some of the 'naughty' lanes . I've ridden these for over 40 years and I'm not going to stop just because some twats in the gubberment say you can't anymore

Beautiful skies, it's definitely not like that here at the moment.

Do you feel like you're reaching for the bars Alan ? would a pair of bars risers help with the riding position ? -
Loads of times in the past but I didn't on this ride. I've also ridden through the forest (when no one's looking )

Spooky eh! both on the same bridge , both on Yamaha's but probably 20 years apart

From Tregaron I passed though Llanddewi Brefi but you wouldn't know as the sign has been knicked again , as said earlier I scooted through Devils Bridge and onto Cwmystwyth and then found a gravel road to have a little play on and a play on the rickety bridge........ At the entrance to the Elan Valley road they have put some pic nic tables by the river which was very nice Then it was a steady ride back to the motherland with a couple of coffee breaks on the way.

I stopped for a coffeee at the top, it's a great view from here From Beulah I took the road through the Abergwesen pass to Tregaon, this is a great road but very busy with cyclists today
-
Before I start I must make it clear that there are no photos of Devils Bridge as the best thing you can do when you get there is too pass through very quickly to avoid all the wannabee's and power rangers Anyway, after getting some petrol I got onto the M32 and headed up to the M4 , as I'm just exiting the slip road I notice the old bill in my mirrors so move over and let him pass but on come the blue lights and he signalling me to pull over, bollox I wasn't going that fast . Anyway he then pulls into the middle lane and I realise that he's trying to halt the traffic, luckily I'm at the front so when he stops I get a birds eye view of him running up and down the motorway picking up someones luggage which is spread all over three lanes, great start to the day Anyway, over the bridge and up through the back roads to Raglan, past Abergavenny , through Talybont and onto Brecon. Then the climb to Upper Chapel where I stopped to look at this lovely little church Carry on to the road leading to Beulah, over the army ranges

CCM’s Blackout Marks Marvel’s Black Widow Tie-In

I was (un)lucky enough to have a GP450 in my garage for 3 months, I was looking after it for a guy who had a pretty serious injury. For a bike that was less than 9 months old it looked pretty shabby and when I rode it it 'hunted' and wouldn't tickover and this after he had spent a small fortune on upgrades and CCM had it back twice to sort out 'issues' . On the other hand PaulinBont rode his all over europe without any issues, to me they're like the KTM 690 enduro, great in theory but not so much in practice. -
