It’s not the best mate but it was on the bike when I got it. I’m taking a leaf out of your book and using it until it’s bald

Same here Saul , I’m surrounded by them in work but I have no interest in riding them . The only sports bike I kept for any time was my RD350YPVS

The 'old' engine know as the RFS (2002-2007) is widely regarded as the best engine KTM ever built . The engines from 2008-2012 were not as good , held less oil and were prone to early destruction. Then they got it right again with the newer (2013 0n ) engines . That's why 400, 450 and 525 EXC models (RFS engine) hold their value . Go on the KTM UK forum for guys who are in the know . https://www.ktmforum.co.uk/forums/

I've had three DRZ's . There is a trail model 'S' and an enduro model 'E' . The E has the livelier engine and the S has more road niceties. They are great bikes apart from the lack of a 6th gear but the newest one would be over 15 years old now. Having said that if you buy a good one it won't lose value but there are some proper dogs out there which could be a money pit. This one is decent as it's almost standard so you know it hasn't been mucked about ......... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145712371681?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20230811123856%26meid%3Df624ebe8b2ad4e1c9362fe5112fd1e47%26pid%3D101770%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26itm%3D145712371681%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D4375194%26algv%3DRecentlyViewedItemsV2&_trksid=p4375194.c101770.m146925&_trkparms=parentrq%3Ac97800a218e0a4f2f37602b5ffffe35c|pageci%3Af32877df-f76f-11ee-bfcd-8acb9bdb13f9|iid%3A1|vlpname%3Avlp_homepage

It could be easier or it could send him skyward if he yanks the throttle too hard ..................

There are so many variables when equating engine hours to miles but as a ball park figure that is about 4520 miles. What has the bike been used for , has it raced enduro's or just trail-riding ? If it's a race bike then you'd be getting close to needing a top end rebuild if it hasn't already been done. Is it road registered ?

It looks in good nick and well equipped for that money.
