The abandoned Spanish village of Moralejo de Arriba
XTreme replied to XTreme's topic in RIDE REPORTS
@Sir Fallsalot........another abandoned village! -
Another abandoned Spanish village.......Moralejo de Arriba in the Murcia province. Apparently it never had electricity or water, and the last inhabitants left in 1985.

You didn't actually go through that water did you Bob? ?
-
I pick my photo opportunities carefully @Pedro! ?

Great stuff Bob! Would it surprise you if I said............Don't ever invite me to go to THAT! ?
-
@Tym........Max is German but lives in the US and runs tours from there. He came over to Europe to check out Spain as a possible venue........did that, and went back to Germany for his return flight.......and the borders closed. So he's stuck there waiting to get out!

Hi @John.........glad you made it! ?
-
It's not a high bar in terms of quality conversations here Kevin! @Tym........here's another one who'll tell you that you need a nice V-Strom!
-
Hi Kevin! @Clementinekev ? Good to see somebody else with a real bike show up!
-
Fucking hardcore shit here Miles.......something you'd know nothing about! This is how it's done.......
-
Hi Max........good to see you!
-
Great story! And I'm 66 in 10 days so you're not the only old one here! Things went downhill after Woodstock you know! It's just crazy now! I remember going to see Charlton Heston in the film "The Omega Man" in 1972.........little did I know that nearly 50 years later I'd be living in it!
-
Nice to see you @emarsh......I'm in Spain as well. Been here 15 years but as I'm a Brit I didn't have to go through the licence crap. We've been on Spanish licences for over 10 years now. Whereabouts are you in Spain (I'm in Granada) and what made you decide to choose this place? I think you're the first American I've come across here! @Tym........one of your countrymen is in Spain!

I'm pretty sure Yamaha and Honda built bikes in Brazil in the 80's........so it's back to the 70's to be sure of getting a genuine! Unless you fancy a nice Strom.......they're all genuine Japs. Not sure how some Beemer owners feel about their bike being built in China though......that would worry me!
-
How many Japs are actually made in Japan now though? More and more bikes now have the actual assembly done in other countries. I don't have a big issue with that as long as the motor itself is Japanese. The CB500X is made in Thailand......but by all accounts the build quality is top notch. Certainly better than my Strom which was actually built in Japan. So there are some disparities. I wouldn't be happy buying a Nissan and finding out it had a Renault engine that's for sure. But it works the other way when you buy a Skoda.......where you actually get a VW but for a lot less money.

It looks like @Pedro is still ahead on the Leaderboard! But look who's in 4th place......the fucking @BusBoy
-
Great story Pedro! All the dogs you remember from when you were here in 2006 are now gone......except for Luna! She's 14 now!
-
I have been known to stop and wash the bike during a ride @Sir Fallsalot. I think @Dell took this in 2007 when he came over here! He didn't fall off that day either! ?
