For those of you in the UK who like to go camping you may want to book a hotel from now on. Apparently tents are now illegal there and they're being confiscated by the authorities.
-
Flooding stopped now then?
-
Thanks for your feedback Saul......as a newer member it gives us an insight into how others might see us.
-
I would have thought so.......after all his bike is relatively small.
-
€1300 replacement cost at a main dealer here though.
-
They're stopping selling them?
-
You don't have to split the bike in half to do the clutch on yours?
-
WE need a Van Action thread! Strangely enough they get a lot of views......I think people are drawn to them by the suspense of seeing whether the bike actually comes out of the van!
-
@Saul.......I'd really like your input on this as a newer member. You came into this a year ago so you will probably more objective than most of us. Where are we getting it wrong and where are we getting it right?
-
That's still true! But I'd like to see the people who do have bikes make a positive contribution in terms of ride reports and other bike related stuff! Considering the forum is a free resource that anybody can use (probably the only non-subscription one out there) I don't think it's asking too much for people to give something back by getting involved and helping it grow and develop.

Looking pretty decent here......and winds are apparently dropping at last. I've got some work to clear so I think Sunday will be the day! What you got planned?
-
No......there's no nasty or vindictive people on here. All in all it's a decent bunch. It's just that this place can only survive with new members coming in........that literally is what the future depends on. No......I'm simply addressing concerns that members (both current and former) have spoken to me about. Of course there's a place for humour and banter.......but there has to be a balance between that and quality content. That's why Ride Reports are so important.......look at ours compared to other places! As an example, Bob is a Mod here......and look at what he does on his bikes. He gets respect not cos he's a Mod but because of his motorcycling! Now look at the Mods on some other forums! See the difference? Be like Bob!

Not at all! The guys here that know me personally will tell you that I really don't give a shit what anybody thinks on a personal level. But in my role as the Admin of this forum who hears from people that don't bother posting much (if at all) any more for various reasons, then I obviously take those points on board. Nothing wrong with banter or having a laugh obviously......that's what builds a community. People like to come on and have a laugh, but there has to be more depth than that. We need people to actually make the effort to help us build this forum into something that people will want to visit. On both a personal and informational level. Now when you consider everybody gets this forum at no cost to them I don't think it's too much to ask.

Probably connected to building outside Japan. How many Jap bikes are solely built in Japan these days? Cos apparently the new Stroms are built in India!

If you're aiming for the sort of witty one liners we get from Six or Buck It never quite comes off. The end result is you don't manage to wind anybody up, it's just you repeating the same old thing ad infinitum. The only thing you actually manage to accomplish is increasing your post count, and making yourself look like a desperate attention-seeker. It's really strange because I don't remember you like that on the other place.

@zzzak has translated it using Google Translate.

Rotax engine!

The Japs proved themselves.....the Chinks haven't! And I'm not altogether convinced they ever will.
-
One thing I've been thinking about for a while now......why are the Japs putting up no opposition to the Chinkies in the 125-450 Trail/Adv/Rally segment? It's like they're willing to let them have that sector of lower priced bikes because they want the larger capacity, more expensive part of the market. That's a bike mistake.....the Brits thought like that in the 60's. People said the Jap bikes were "sewing machines" and they couldn't build a good big one! Then the CB750 K0 arrived in 1969! It changed everything, and within 3 years along came the Z1. And those buyers of the small Japs in the 60's became customers for life and there was no British motorcycle industry left.

It's not early days Ray......they've been offloading their shit for about 20 years now! Yamaha were competing worldwide 13 years after two Atomic Bombs were dropped on them!
-
I've got 5G transmissions coming from my anus now!
-
Putting it in perspective that was only 13 years after Hiroshima!
