My only interaction with Carbs has been tickling a couple of Amals in 1971 and 1972.
Obviously I didn't do it that well because the POS Triumph and BSA still didn't start.
He'd jump at that shit for sure!
But I find it so depressing that you go into bike showrooms these days and they're just full of Chinkies using a multitude of different brand names.
The irony is they've done it by building the sort of bikes that people actually want......like in the under 500CC Adv/Trailie market.
And the Japs have just let them do it because they've been on a mission to build the bikes that they think people should have. Which is the polar opposite of what people actually want.
Every 8K miles / 12800K kms for mine! The major inspection where you check the valve clearances is every 16K miles / 25600 kms.
I had the oil and filter changed at 15500 kms and 18800 kms.....next one will be done around 22200 kms. (I just passed 21K today)
The critical word there is "copy" Bob.
Like I bought a genuine Honda stand, whereas I could have paid half the price on Amazon for a copy.
But with something structural like that I wasn't taking any chances. Same goes for the engine!
