  1. We gotta see somebody give him a twatting!
  2. Actually tomorrow it's me go Baza! The wife wants to buy another shelving unit for her plants!
  3. I think with these things that they're on borrowed time after a couple of years.....seems to be the battery that starts failing first. My Samsung A71 is over 3 years old and it doesn't hold it's charge like it used to.......I read that the fast charging processes tend to diminish the battery sooner.
  4. Just pulled the trigger on a new phone! (if you remember, I dropped my Samsung two weeks ago) All I use a phone for is business communications, taking photos, and occasionally directions. I don't play games or stream movies etc. But I must have a large screen cos my eyesight is not as good as it was! This thing is 5G capable, it's got 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, a 6.7" screen, and the camera is 100 MP! Reviews are all very positive so it's a no-brainer! Now I know some dipshit is going to start about it being Chinese.......but they're basically all Chinese under the hood! Honor is part of Huawei (and I used their phones for years) so I'm pretty confident it'll be a lot of phone for not a lot of money. If Huawei hadn't got their collars felt for spying they'd probably have a huge chunk of the market now, cos their stuff outperforms Samsungs costing twice as much.
  5. Shows who's on the PED's doesn't it?
  6. National Holiday today in Spain......has no bearing on what I do though cos the Internet never shuts down!
  7. Lot of bike for the money!
  8. Nice shots Bob.......you still thinking of switching?
  9. So that's not the case then?
  10. Sometime in the future yes! Though not on the scale that you're probably doing now of course. The problem with being self employed here is the cost......about €4K a year. And that's before you do any business and start actually paying Tax and VAT! It's not means assessed......so if you earn €10K a year or €100K a year you pay the same. And that right there is the reason why Spain has such a massive black economy......because entrepreneurship is actually penalised.
  11. Yeh.....he should have gone for it really. That's why we made the move when w did, it was a big risk but at least we wouldn't be looking back in later years and thinking "What if?" In our case it worked out OK.......but for a lot of people it doesn't.
  12. You could get there for a tenner then I think?
  13. It wasn't easy coming here when we did! If I'd sold a house in London we'd have come here with a fucking wad. Unfortunately, selling a house in Llandrindod Wells doesn't carry the same financial clout. However, we now look back and realise it was the best thing we ever did when we hear of the predicament many Pensioners are now in back there. As it stands now, our boy in NL has made a fantastic life for himself (he earns huge money) and at last the one in Madrid has finally got his shit together. We just pray that Fatty doesn't deliberately fuck it up so she can go back to Poland! As for us, I'll keep working.....but I'm fine with that. I'd go crazy doing nothing. And in 5 more years the wife can retire with a small Pension from Spain. Both our healthcare is free then, so I'll keep working but only under the radar using an Internet banking service like Revolut to store the dosh. Got it all planned!
  14. Plenty of others are going to be finding that out!
  15. Both working and still struggling? It's not right is it? As for Pensions....."the most generous pension system is in Spain, where pensioners receiving the maximum State Pension have an income of €2,617.53 per month (£2,287.24). Spain also has low living costs, so pensioners can expect a comfortable retirement with pension income at a whopping 407.40% over the breakeven point." I know a few guys who retired around the time I started receiving my Pension, and they can't believe how little British Pensioners get. They're loving their retirement, and I haven't come across any who've had to continue working as I did.
  16. What job has your son in law got Clive?
  17. It's a difficult situation with your kids! As you know I was caught up in it for a year, and we estimate that we put around €6-7K in to get our boy in a position to actually move forward with his life. As well as the dosh we paid a high price! The bitch gave us Covid, then that flu that caused my Hernia, and damaged our fucking car. Not to mention the stress and emotional upset she caused. However, he did step up and get that job in Madrid (€30k+ a year) and apparently the fat munter has now got a part time job as well. On top of that, the boys have now got places in the same school and seem to be settling in! So it actually achieved something after all that trauma......because he did his bit. However, if he was like @Clive's boy who won't even try to help himself, it's highly unlikely we'd have done what we did. My way of thinking is give them all the help you can when they need it. But unless they're willing to take steps to get themselves out of the mess they've created, you can't go on like that forever because the real problem isn't being addressed.
  18. A change is gonna come Clive!
