Yeh.....I'm surprised it's been so close actually. As you know I nominated Bob and my vote obviously went for him. So I hope he gets one position.......as for the other position, they're all good candidates, but I do have a preference for who would be best suited. But I'm not saying who that is......you've got to make your own minds up or I'll be accused of trying to rig the vote.

This way there are no wasted votes! Cos let's say Member A and Member B get the two most votes......in that scenario over half the forum could have voted for other nominees. Wasted votes! And then further along the line they start complaining about Mods saying they never voted for either of them anyway. You see problem with first past the post? Doing it this way they've had a say.....it may not have been their first choices but they actually voted.

Unfortunately it's not really an attribute that has helped me much in life Pedro!

7PM this evening and all those with 3 votes and below are eliminated. If there's nobody listed at 3 votes then the threshold will rise to 4 votes. If there's nobody listed at 4 votes then the threshold will rise to 5 votes if only one is left at that. So whatever happens somebody will be eliminated tonight.

But do you think I should have to be dealing with Jerry Springer type situations? I certainly don't have the time or the patience to go through that scenario on here! I'm already dealing with one in real life.....I don't need any more. I opened this place during the lockdowns and never expected it to last more than a few months but it did. I also wanted to extend the olive branch to previous members who may have drifted away from the other forums over the years for various reasons. Bottom line is this......at our age we're now at the Last Chance Saloon! So there won't be another opportunity to make this work!

Complaints about certain content being posted.......and people presuming that I'm here every minute of every day to read everything and pick up on these things. Obviously I'm not......I have to work for a living and you're all aware of the personal commitments that I have as well. So the only option is to appoint two people who can help in this respect because I can't do it all on my own. I resisted this for a long time (since April 2020) because I wanted to wait till the situation actually required it. And that time is now here given how things went down this week. I'll be honest.......I got to the point where I seriously thought of calling it a day, so this was the only option other than game over. This is the reality of the situation and people need to reflect on this: 1. I don't make any money doing this, in fact it costs me money. Can you find another place where the begging bowl doesn't come out? I'm not sure another one actually exists these days......and certainly not on commercial software. 2. Doing this takes up a lot of time, and I really don't have that time in my life. 3. When people join they're not doing me a favour. If they leave, they're not giving me some sort of body blow. It has no bearing on my life whatsoever. 4. I'm not one of those people who wants to go on a power trip and boost my self esteem by running a forum. I don't need any more self esteem.....I've got more than enough already! 5. I don't want to look like a big player in the motorcycle community. I don't want to play the poor man's "Sonny Barger". And I don't want to "fit in" or "belong" either. I do my own thing and always have. So what do I actually gain from doing this? The answer is nothing. I've been doing it since 2002 purely to put something back into motorcycling and the motorcycle community in the only way I can. Motorcycling has been good to me (it's been with me since 1971).....and without it I'd have probably gone completely off the rails in my younger days. Bit like you hear some Boxers saying that without it they'd have gone to jail. And ultimately this place after all these years has served as a final meetup point for old friends from previous forums to get back together again! Will it stand the test of time? Well the answer to that is down to each and every one of you! I can't do any more than I have!

Weather looks OK for me...... ......but I do have some work to get through, and we've got the grandkids in the afternoons. Going to try to get out both days if possible.....just got to see how it goes. What about you?
