You see the logic of the Harley FanBoys there zzzak? If you don't ride a Harley then you're gay! Which seems to be the polar opposite of how the rest of the world sees them.

You'd end up using it for a lot more than that Fred!

The scariest one I ever went on was the Battersea Big Dipper.....it's not that it was that thrilling in terms of design, it just felt fucking dangerous! And it was......cos not long after that this happened:

Fairs have changed a bit since the 60's......didn't seem like there was anything available capable of delivering Death and Dismemberment. No Mods and Rockers or Greasers and Skins fighting either! Still.....I had to take the grandkids so I made the best of it! Loads of stalls in the streets selling fake Nike and Adidas etc. Then into the fair..... I wanted a go on the Dodgems but Jake said I couldn't because I'm too old! Julian looking cool on the roundabout..... And we were there till it got dark.....then bought the kids whatever toys they wanted on the stall. Took them back to their flat then.....they wanted us to come in and play with them with their new toys. But we're not allowed to go in......our money can, but not us!

As you've probably seen, I took @Skippy to an abandoned village yesterday, and the approach "road" to it was a bit chopped up. It was tarmac......but in a very bad condition with trenches and holes everywhere. Now I could have taken him on this alternative route back to civilisation.....if you can call this place civilisation. But I didn't......because it involves about 10 miles of even worse tarmac. And in some places there is no tarmac.....just sand! The ironic thing is once you get to a proper road surface you think you're back to Civilisation. But you're not! Because you've just arrived at yet another abandoned village. Some years ago I ended up fucking up my fork seals on one of the XT600's because I thought I could just belt over them. You can to some extent........till you come across a trench that's deeper than it looks. This is where it starts..... Then it starts getting worse..... After a while you come across some abandoned shit......basically most of this stretch is abandoned! Then off we go again..... Then we get some more.... And then back on the "tarmac". The thing about living where I live is you can't buy a bike that is focussed in one area......you need something that will reasonably handle whatever conditions you may come across. Because the road you've seen here actually shows on Google Maps as a legitimate route to get from A to B. And it changes into that surface without any warning whatsoever! Oh......and if you bin it out here there's no phone signal, so you're on your own! A Dutch mate of mine lay semi-conscious in the middle of the road for 6 hours after hitting a wild boar on his Varadero......and being well into his 60's he was lucky to survive! Which is more than I can say for the Varadero!

No.....I'll leave the thread to make things clear. But to reiterate that this is something that everybody agreed to in the T&C's at signup time.

I've now deleted three threads! I've asked people sensibly......and quite frankly I don't have time for this childish nonsense. If some of you want to continue with this stuff then you have to accept that whatever happens is going to be down to you.

Like Fred and Caroline said.......it creates bad feeling. Look at Social Media channels.....it's full of that along with Covid conspiracies. This no politics rule has been in place on all the previous forums.....it's nothing new. So if you want to talk about Politics you need to go to a Political Forum....not a Motorcycle one. By all means put a Political meme in the Jokes thread......but let's not get into any political discussions. And I will add that the people who have have been starting these threads today (knowing full well the rule has always been in place) would be better served by making positive motorcycle related contributions to the forum as many others do.

This country is full of Harleys......but I tell you what, you never see any of them on the roads I go on. Always smooth main roads and then parked outside bars!

You can ride anywhere you like there Bob. A lot of adventure tour companies do trips up there in 4x4's.
