  1. They're not normal straw bales......they're massive bulk bales that need a forklift to move. The wife takes what she wants in loose straw from the bale and all I do is push the wheelbarrows. And I've only been doing that for the last week or so. I could have ridden the bike a few weeks ago.....but I'm just taking it very slowly cos I don't want any setbacks. I don't want to go through that again.
  2. We're there twice a day and any feed bags we have to do a bit at a time between us. The straw isn't heavy.
  3. Got to go over to the horses now as Alex the Farrier is on the way.
  4. And I bet the EU are doing nothing about it? You need more sovereignty you do!
  5. You got some mud there Saul!
  6. So it's a common occurrence in transport that if an engine malfunctions they sack drivers? Is that right @boboneleg @Clive? And does it happen with buses @Buckster?
  7. He's trolling you now @Tango. Never mind.......we can all troll him when he gets the boot from his latest job!
  8. Motorcycle reviews.......but from experienced people who know WTF they're talking about.....like Neevesy from MCN, MotoJitsu, or Fortnine. I don't put much weight behind these guys who borrow a bike from the local dealer, ride round the block, and then present themselves as some sort of authority on Motorcycling.
  9. Evidently they do according to people who've actually been there!
  10. Superb shots Bob! Do Germans visit those places as well?
  11. Yeh.....when you see gloomy skies and no sun it's fucking depressing.
  12. Another week......and I can't wait to see the back of January and February!
  13. I heard he did it by car, bike, and truck! Simultaneously!
  14. It might surprise you to know that I actually went to see about joining the RAF after I got my O Level results in 1970. I really wanted to fly planes, but they told me I'd have to get my A Levels first. Then I'd go in at a higher level and be on an Officer training path. And eventually, if selected, I could get on the flight training program. So reluctantly I went back to school to do A Levels, but after 6 months of that monotonous shit the frustration of wanting a bike and having no dosh really got to me! So I left and the rest is history. By a strange coincidence in 1978, the wife wanted to join the RAF as a Military Police dog handler. But her mother put the kybosh on it and made her go to work at WH Smith.
  15. 16C and blue skies today.......and it's 6 weeks of being sidelined! But the clock is ticking and I hope to be back before the end of the month! Though knowing my luck the weather will be hell on earth by then.
  16. The Finns are a serious outfit in terms of Winter warfare.
  17. They said they were willing to die for Brexit after all.
  18. Things have changed so much since the WWII era......so I doubt we'd ever see a mass mobilisation and invasion like that again. Now it's just press a few buttons.
