  1. Yeh.....the heat is the danger for sure! As you recall, I got caught back in the Summer when the wall of heat came down at 11AM not 2PM. But you can't live your life over-analysing every possibility where something could go wrong......you just get on and do it. And the thing is, most of us on here are at the stage where the words "Life in Prison" doesn't worry us one bit!
  2. Not going to happen Pedro! I don't crash at low speeds.....never have! My last one was in 1978 at 110mph........I wouldn't accept anything less now!
  3. It is much easier than the conventional method!
  4. Now that's a Clickbait title if ever there was! I'm referring to a strange phenomenon that's been happening to me over the last year or two. No......not actually getting brutally murdered on a Rideout.......people worrying that I'm going to get brutally murdered on a Rideout. So why do they think this? Well it's a combination of the strange places I get to like Abandoned Villages, Railway Stations, Factories, Warehouses etc........and me being an OAP. I don't get that response on here, but I used to get it on another forum! In fact @Richzx6r was one of those who was always concerned for my safety! I get inundated with it on FB groups though! In fact one Romanian guy in the UK who's a FB friend is moving to Spain this year and he's told me that he's going to act as my bodyguard on these trips. And he's a huge guy and ex Romanian military! Got this image in my mind of him turning up with AK47's or something! So does anybody else get this sort of thing? And why do none of the people who've known me for years have this pathological fear of me getting brutally murdered on a Rideout? While everybody else does!
  5. So you're 5'6"" with a 23" inside leg......and I'm around 5'11" with 35" inside leg. I think I got some of your legs somehow! I used to get strange looks from bike salesmen who were taller than me when they would sit on a bike and be on tippy toes......and suggest the lower seat for me. Then I'd sit on it with both feet on the floor and legs bent! They'd just look me up and down bewildered.
  6. No.....I never attempted that. Just pushed, got it to fire, and jumped on!
  7. I dunno.....it just comes naturally. It always did! I found out what didn't work well by falling off.....we all did.
  8. If it's any consolation you already look the part Keith!
  9. Us OAP's are the new Rat Pack Bruce! Which reminds me of a strange thing I've experienced over the last couple of years with regards to peoples' perception of OAP's. I'll have to start a thread......cos this is way out there!
  10. Bruce is an inch or so taller than me so that would be right. Unless he's shrunk or something! My missus has.....5'8" down to 5'6"......but some of that is due to the hip replacement I'd say. I haven't shrunk as far as I know!
  11. I see people asking riding advice on places and I find that I can't advise in any way. Simply because I don't know how I ride or what I do when I'm actually riding. To me it's like describing how I walk......it's impossible!
  12. Everybody's fairly old here except @Pedro @Grasshopper's Ride and @Richzx6r so there's not a big generation gap as such. And I think everybody here has had bikes all their lives......so it's no use asking any of us how to pass a CBT.
  13. Still this new post issue Ian? I've PM'd you!
  14. Why? It's one of the very few interesting posts you've ever made Clive.
  15. You haven't as far as I know Bob......and anyway, nothing wrong with a bit of trolling! @Buckster has made a career out of it after all.
  16. Many thanks Michelle......there are other aspects planned....not just forum based. So it's a work in progress to some extent.
  17. Nail on head Clive! If you've worked with men, been in the forces, participated in team sports, were a 70's Greaser etc you're a perfect fit.
  18. Thanks Keith! I just put the software here and everybody else does the rest. But my sort of direction has always been somewhat different to the other forums inasmuch as I'm not keen on this overly serious mentality where everybody wants to show how deadly serious they are about motorcycling. That's where the Rugged Individualism, Styling and Profiling, and Namby Pamby Motorcycling phrases come from......it's a ridiculous parody of all these twats who are up their own ass. But I post it elsewhere and people are so fucking thick the joke goes way over their head. It comes down to this! It's a bunch of guys (mainly old) and we love bikes......that's all it is!
  19. Yeh I saw that.....it was tragic!
  20. Thanks Rich.....I don't think it's cliquey......but I can't see it as a new member would. So that's why objective views like yours are really important.
  21. Your world class athletics facilities didn't do you any favours then Fred? A nice spell in Borstal is what your kind needed! With @BusBoy as your cellmate!
