it's like that for cars and electronics and everything! "they don't make them like they used too" and thank heavens for that. We all thought our old V8 Chevy pickups were the greatest thing ever, and then I inheritred the old man's 79. Good lord what a slug, and all that lack of performance for 10 mpg. We recently owned a GMC with the 8.1 liter monster motor that made twice the power with better mileage and air conditioning. The Kids think it's pretty cool though.

the problem is our alert little bugger (jack Russel terrierist) is sleeping under the quilt while the bruiser with teeth (pyrenees/ newf) is shouting her head off at other dogs or clouds or whatever. So we have added the standard poodle to the pack. Because we are insane!

sheeeeit, guess I missed this one and now it;s all over but the pain... but vacuum leaks cause that sort of horrible operation also. and of course modem carbs tuned for emissions run lean to start with. That Honda CM400 ran like crap most of the time, the slides had a chamber instead of a diaphragm, no parts or jets available, I had to field engineer a solution that was a shim under the Needle to richen up the midrange.

That interior looks like a Series to me.

Our governor had us under a ridiculous level of arbitrary lock. You could go out on the water in a kayak or rowboat but not a motor, landscapers could not work, even outside by themselves, private golf courses were open but not public, couldn't g fishing even by yourself and yes, it was true that you couldn't buy paint or flooring or visit the garden center. So we went off to Operation Gridlock and it must have made a difference as the gov lifted the Goofy restrictions. Still can't go to the pub but at least I could go ride the bike if the weather would fucking cooperate and buy paint again. At least we have time to train the puppy properly, not just plop him in the crate and leave him for hours .

for some reason we seem to like having 3 dogs around and we had to say goodbye to our little jack Russel on boxing day. Jan has been looking around at basset hounds as she used to have one in the UK, and then fried day she was scanning the FB marketplace and found her other favorite dog, standard poodles. So we totally broke social distancing rules, drove to Traverse City and brought home Gus. 7 weeks old and now the trouble starts!

I've had a few over the years, but since we got the Tiger my bike whorish ways have moderated, since then it's been all Tiger with a brief flirtation with a BMW Light Truck that was a really disappointing machine.

My first Triumph was a 95 Sprint and it sounded like an old diesel at idle, and Tigey doesn't sound much better. At least the newer ones don't have the starter sprag gear fail and require splitting the case to replace it. Apparently that happened to the guy I sold the Sprint to, as he mentioned it in the Craigslist listing when he was selling it. I recognized it from the D&D race pipes on the bike and it was capable of sounds similar to an F1 car.

We have our 2003 Girlie, and to be honest it's been the perfect bike over the years we've owned it. We also have a Kwacker Ninja 500 we bought for Jan's son Alex, he sometimes spends summers with us here in the US and we sometimes work him like a rented mule. To thank him and to ensure he has a way to get around to see his brother and some girls he met we keep itnaround....and Jan will be using it this summer as it doesn't look like Alex will be getting here this summer.

When Triumph first fired up again and came to the US this was the first one I saw. And that bike set the squirrels in my head spinning wildly. So much so that eventually we captured a Tiger and made her our ow.

We've been very impressed with Indian motorcycles, I tested a Scout and we hopped on a Roadmaster at Sturgis, the bikes performed well and looked good and we have sprya been looking for a Roadmaster. If you kids get a chance for a test ride, take it. It will be an eye opener.

anyways, Jan has had some time with Ancestry so we've been tracing the family trees and getting our DNA tested. She's 96% English with a heavy IOW influence, as borne out by her family tree. Me? As usual for an American, I'm about a third Norwegian, 40% English and then some German. My aunt had told us that the English part was from John Lukins, who came here from Liverpool. Jan immediately called me a scouse, guarded her drinks when I was around, kept me out of the checking account and away from the local casino. Ahh, but Ancestry to the rescue! Turns out John Lukins got on the boat in Liverpool, but actually came from a long line of Lukins from Weare, deep in Somerset near Cheddar gorge. Salvation! I'm not a scouse, I'm merely a harmless yokel and cheese head. Once again I'm in good graces here. It's interesting to follow the tracks. We found mine back to 1500's Norway, hers well back into the 1800's, anyways the next trip to the UK will involve a trip to Weare and maybe a wander through the local graveyards.

I broke my GS on a rough rough, not even off road. Came back from Dawson along the Taylor Highway and must have busted the rest drive there. Stopped for coffee at Gakona and heard a "bloop" which was the rear end puking up the gear oil.
