I haven't checked in at ADV rider for years, and in my area there really aren't Much into off roading.

Hard to believe that some bastard would do that to a puppy, maybe you two found each other as much as you found him. He looks to have bounced back from his surgery and hope he'd well and truly spoiled. Jan brought me into the world of Jack Russels. First we had Charlie who came over with her when she left blighty. He came down with lymphoma and we had to say goodbye, then we adopted Lucy who ended up being my dog and not paying much attention to Jan. Then there was Scooby who we got from the shelter and he is being terribly neglected as he snoozes between us in bed, it's just awful! We said goodbye to Lucy on boxing day, she was sliding into dog dementia, we found her in the morning bumping into the wall as she had no idea where she was. And we are kind of looking for some poor pup to neglect, mistreat and otherwise make miserable

Nice to see some actual impressions of the Himalayan. We have them here, they are about as cheap as a DS bike gets and I like the look and feel of them, like an updated Honda XL 350.

For most people yes. From my experience with the CM400 we have I know the engine has plenty of power for a low speed/high drag application like a chopper. The engine is rated at 43 horsepowers, compared to an old Sportster motor at 55 ponies or a Triumph twin at 52. Close enough for a chopper and the CM 400 is lighter and more compact.

I met him at a motorcycle show in Anchorage, we were the only two to ride to the show as it was still winter that year. We traded notes a bit, I asked him why a R1 which seemed an odd choice for a winter bike and his answer was it was what he had so why not? Hard to argue with that! That ice is going to be a helluva challenge.

It's my heritage! Kinda. I like a minimal style of bike and the original "chopper" was from the days when you would chop off anything everything that was deemed unnecessary . Much like a Cafe bike, but more straight line or flat track. A true chopper is as individual as you like, no rules, annd......the frame and parts were only $250 and thats a cheap start. You can actually build a nice checkbook chopper right out of the catalog, but I'm too cheap for that

one of life's simple pleasures was taking a motorcycle turd and polishing it to my liking, and it's been a while since I had the bug in a big way. Mostly because we moved and bought a house that has been an ongoing project since we moved in and is still demanding some work, but here in the lesser 48 the project bike market is much larger than in Alaska and it's finally game on! Picked up this ummmm, BSA as it is recorded on the title, with several tubs of various bike parts, mostly from a Honda CM400 it appears. The motor is the same as the CM400 I rescued many years ago and that we still have, it's now pretty the spare bike. I've always had a desire to build a chopper, and here is the start!

We were on a trip through the US desert southwest right before the whole world ended, a whole lot warmer and nicer than this damn icebox! Better days coming as long as the covids don't attack.

Its nice to be back, and now I do have an English to American translator on staff. Life is good but would be better if it weren't 2 degrees out there, not as much fun riding.
