  1. It is obvious that Fred has never been here because the sheep don’t run away. After heading over the tops I started towards Gifford and was greeted with views towards the Firth of Forth and the Bass Rock. Also something familiar to Fred. More of what you all want of course. I have a picture of my Thruxton R at this same spot a few years ago. Then I headed home via the takeaway. I was a good afternoon ride.
  2. I wanted to ride the Lammermuir Hills as it has been a while and the last time was well before I fitted the new shocks. I headed over some nice twisty country roads and through Duns before turning off and heading for Longformacus and up into the hills. Miles of single track roads with little traffic and a few cattle grids and many sheeps. This was looking back from where I had come from. This was where I was headed. The views were spectacular as always. That is Watch Water Reservoir in the distance.
  3. So today after church I headed out to get some new summer gloves, my short leather gloves are a little warm on days like today so I wanted some that were better vented, I found these in 3XL which were perfect for my big tall person hands. I needed to test them out so I headed out of town, I got them at J&S on the south side of the City so I headed south and made my way into the borders down the A68 before turning off and heading to Coldstream, about 70 miles. I looked for the Coldstream Guards but they were hiding so I went to the CoOp and got a sandwich and drink and headed to the park to sit in the sun and enjoy this culinary delight. While there I founds evidence of the guards. I sat on a bench overlooking the River Tweed the centre of which is the border between Scotland and England. I also had a nice cigar after my picnic and sat and watched Kingfishers, Herons and Otters down in the river, unfortunately my phone camera wasn’t up to the job of taking those kind of photos but it got me thinking of getting a decent camera. Then I started thinking of heading back.

  12. 700 is chain drive rather than shaft as well.
  13. Is that where you live? Angel Farm is over in Hoo, that is the U.K. headquarters for the HA.
  14. Alley started offering ABS in 2008, it became standard in 2018, my bike is 2008, it has TBW as standard, Indian is just a poor copy.
  15. There are some gay riders clubs, I’m sure they would welcome you into their ranks and their special leather nights.
  16. Okay, so a few rules here to protect yourselves and the forum in general, these groups are Motorcycle Clubs or Riders Clubs, don’t call them gangs, you can get yourself into a lot of trouble calling them that. Before you start telling me you aren’t scared of them, I’m happy for you but it won’t stop you getting knifed, shot or beaten to a pulp, there is a protocol, not so much with folks like The Widows Sons, they are just playing at it but the MC’s which are outlaw clubs, think Blue Angels in Scotland and beyond, Hells Angels, Outlaws, Bandido’s in the rest of the U.K. etc.. and the MCC’s which are usually outlaw support clubs but a little less hard core. The MC’s will kill you without a care in the world, the MCC’s will give you a beat down, so do yourself a favour and call them clubs. I general its best not to discuss the clubs on forums, they live in a closed world and you don’t know anything about them in reality and they don’t like being talked about. If you see MC’s about, don’t approach them, don’t try to engage them in conversation, if they see you around enough then they may initiate conversation with you, be respectful and you will get on fine. With the MCC’s you should play it by ear and use common sense, some are amiable enough, they are usually guys with steady jobs but are somewhere between a riders club and a MC, some are more like MC’s other are more like riders clubs. They are a world within a world, over the years I have developed some great friendships with MC members but when push comes to shove they will always favour their club brethren.
  17. No, I’m not with them, I started a motorcycle ministry some years ago which I am patch president of, we work a lot with outlaw clubs.
  18. Widows sons are freemasons.
  19. You mean a lot taller than you.
