  1. Thank you Pedro, but it's not for me. I've done it before for about 10 years on XRV.org.
  2. No, the 'formerly alive' down and out who had a little tent and was living in there got a bit murdered.
  3. I don't think I'd go through there at night, people sometimes live in there and one was murdered a few years ago. We had a colleague, circa 2002, who we nicknamed the Ninja because he looked like a baddy from a Karate Kid film. He actually was a highly rated martial arts fan as well. The cemetery is right next to our then offices. He took a shortcut through there at lunchtime whilst carrying a very obvious metal lap top case. Three of the local upstanding youth asked him to hand it over and then laid hands upon him. He returned with a torn shirt, still holding the lap top case, but it now had head shaped dents in it. I have actually found a picture of him that I'd added a speech bubble to from back then. He's talking to the world's most most boring Australian who was with us for about a year.
  4. Took a very rainy short cut through an east London cemetery. "I know", thought I. "I'll take some pictures!" A Cockney Boot Hill. I reckon they filmed Amy Winehouse in there. Council lets it grow wild now, I keep meaning to get in and take pictures at Bluebell or Snowdrop time. I didn't have the heart to take a picture of the large group of very small headstones where all the children are buried.
  5. As Pete is currently saying, you can't beat an oldie (they bruise like a peach for one thing).
  6. Ramps, have you no reading glasses?
  7. I buy these by the hundred pairs. Been using them every ride since about 1990 when I got sick of still hearing 'engine' for hours after a long trip. I was once the only person to sleep at a camp site when a baby screamed shrilly all night. I was using my bike jacket as a pillow so I could get the ear plugs out of the case on my key ring straight away. They also stopped me murdering my son when he was crying for hours as a baby, they just take the edge off of it. I recently bought a Sena 10s wossname and I have been able to take phone calls up to 70mph with ear plugs in and with it set at max volume. I know what they are saying, but not always who they are just by recognising the voice, they seem to hear me okay as well. On the odd occasion I ride around town with no ear plugs I have to remember to turn the volume down or my head would explode if someone rang.
  8. She's a good girl though. Always checks the L10 level before driving the car.
  9. I've been driving by Braille at night since 1983, I'm lucky if the road edges in the countryside have white lines so I can see where the edge is. My solution has been to just go slower.
  10. Thank god it didn't happen last month.....
  11. I saw that you tube video, I think it was the first Dobbs one I ever saw, I like his videos. Not a good place to visit in bad weather with miniscule or missing mudguards and open face crash hat!
  12. This is Polish hackers I reckon.
  13. Everythingyouwantedtoknowaboutmangebutdidntdareask.com
  14. They had different jobs in 1918. Some sort of early vagazzle or perhaps just water proofing it.
  15. No explanation, they did have a tag with the room number on, so I know they weren't left behind by the previous occupant.
  16. It seemed to be in the middle of the countryside, only fields across the road.
  17. I stayed at a pub within walking distance of the place, got there the evening before and rode home the next day in the late afternoon. The pub provided binoculars in the room, which was a bit weird.
  18. You make all these property developer websites, do you not do any for contract killers, mates rates and all that?
  19. I reckon you can't get them anymore due to a court case somewhere in the world by a kid with a dent in his forehead. Oddly both my infants and junior school were all white boards with drywipe pens and modern desks, it was like going back in time at senior school, blackboards, chalk and old desks with inkwells.
  20. Call me Empty as per my post above is the 3rd in the series.
  21. Ours looked like this, hardwood I think, very solid, none of your girly pine.
  22. 01 595 6979. That phone number would have stopped being ours around 1977 but I still remember it. On the other hand I have had the same mobile phone number at work since 2003 and I still have to look it up if anyone asks for it, same with my current bike registration and that is 2 years old now.
  23. Luckily, I'm already there, his comrades are dying all the time in the last few chapters, the Brits have introduced new aircraft that now have a fighting chance, I'm up to 1917, he can't last much longer himself now. Oddly, no mention of Snoopy yet????
